Hehe! Frank Herbert directed the movie Dune. Wonder if they're related?

OK, I will fix this.

Frank Herbert wrote the Dune books.

It's up to Steve to edit his post.

Vicki Willis I have only done one by him Haunted and I found it boring. I listened on audio and had a hard time with the narrator. Maybe I should try another one.

Herbert was one of those authors that tended to be a slow-burn with tons of atmosphere until the payoff at the end. I've never listened to any of his on audio, but I could see how that might not translate well. The jury is still out for me on audio as a whole. I'm sure the more I did it the more I would warm up to it.

For those who do not care to read or listen to a Herbert novel. Haunted is a motion picture and not extremely bad for what it is.

Here's the Rotten Tomatoes review.

Tom | 17 comments The Rats was great fun. Quick read. Very un-PC. Chock-full of glorious gross-out moments.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I've only read Once... and found it okay. Have a few of his horror stuff to try later.
