Here are a couple questions to get our discussion started:

1. Forgiveness and acceptance are big themes in this novel--forgiveness and acceptance of oneself and of one's family members. Do you feel that these actions are fully enacted by the end of the story?

2. What do you think of the symbolism behind the father's (Kweku Sai) worn-out slippers?
