I made the lady at Target open the box to get a copy out for me, lol. I can't read yet since I need to do some spring cleaning (ARGH!!); I will read a bit once I get banana bread in the oven.

I spent all yesterday and today cleaning like mad to get the apartment ready for a viewing.
Then, 20 minutes before she was due, the woman cancelled.

I have been talking to her via email for two weeks.
Ugh.
So, time to play catch-up.

I am on chapter 17 but I am concentrating on this one. Vlad needs to redeem himself because he is being a jerk.

Alyssia - my class that starts Monday is Shakespeare...I'm so scared!

And creative writing - maybe that's the one I should be nervous about.

Yes, the deliverance/horseman series is pretty good. I think you'd like it.

Shakespeare is the best! Except for maybe Dostoevsky and Camus. Keep me posted. I would love to talk Shakespeare with you.

I don't think Vlad was being that unreasonable; I wish Leila would use her brain a bit. Still, she has guts. I liked her ultimatum to Vlad, but this Maximus thing? Irritating.

I won't around much tomorrow, but I'll be on 27 when I come back on Thursday. :)

That prologue had best be in medias res... If that's the end of the book, Frost had better watch out.

I got this today, but haven't started it yet, will probably start up tomorrow, but going to a wedding friday so might have to do a full read saturday, busy week for me..

Did I tell yall I was on my way from Atlanta and hit a damn pothole that bent one of my Rims...stupid roads. So now I have to wait until thursday for a new rim, and my damn insurance agent was like its not even worth filing a claim because it will go down as and accident most likely, now aint that some shit, as if I hit the damn pothole on purpose...

Shahbaz, potholes are the worst. Where I live you can't hardly find smooth roads.

I am enjoying the read. Vlad expresses his love through actions not words. Leila wanted him to admit that he loved her and he was not willing to do that.

Maximus definitely has his own agenda.

I'm not sure what to think about Maximus. Think Vlad will be pissed at him for staying with her or grateful he was keeping her safe, even if for his own agenda?

I think it was probably just miscommunication on both of their parts, but I agree about Leila, even though I still feel her rejection. She knew from the beginning that Vlad wouldn't ever 'love' her yet she doesn't understand now why he won't. I'm glad she had balls enough to leave when she saw she was going to end up miserable either way. I think Vlad probably thought his offer to her was akin to an engagement, at least as close as he could let himself get, so when she rejected his offer it stung and probably pissed him off a bit.

Yes,Vlad will never be the timid easy going type. His ways are stuck in the dark ages. She is thinking he would act as a contemporary man.

Vlad has redeemed himself. I will not keep the 9 chapter pace since I am currently on chapter 27. WOW! It is so good!

I knew you would do that Leigh!!! I forced myself to stop at 18...which is okay because I have to work now anyway.

Poor Maximus. He's in for it for sure. Vlad may have promised not to torture him, but he never promised someone else wouldn't :)

I don't trust Maximus. Vlad can always find a loophole in a promise.

Do you think he's going to turn Leila? I'm guessing he's going to have to because of how her body is reacting. What do you think of the woman without a face? She's got to have something to do with all of it.

He wants to turn her for many reasons. Why is she bleeding out when she uses her powers?

I feel like I am cheating on Barrons and Bones with Vlad. He is totally yummy despite his violent and arrogant tendencies.

Lol! I actually like Vlad way better than Bones (shhh...don't tell), but I wouldn't mind a fight between Barrons and Vlad - over me of course :) Who do you think would win?

I think her bleeding out is either a)her body being overused (hence Vlad's need to turn her), or b) someone messed with her somehow (witchcraft maybe?), which is why she can't see the woman's face in her visions - it's been blurred through magic.

Those are my two best guesses.

If I didn't have so much freaking school work I'd finish the book tonight. But it's the last week of class so I have two finals plus a paper this week.

First off I have already claimed my men. Lol
Vlad has fire but Barrons can turn into a beast and is immortal.

I haven't read past chapter nine yet, but I'll be catching up tonight.
I did want to come and add (now that I have a keyboard in front of me!), that I think Vlad offering to make Leila a vamp was the first step on the "love you" boulevard. He can't admit that he loves her before she's at least a little harder to kill.
Also, he doesn't typically take up with the humans. So, she should have seen that offer for what it was.
Allllso, assuring her that he still was going to take care of her despite the loss of usefulness ... that's so love for Vlad. It would be the ultimate sign of a change in him ... an action not ruled by brute practicality.
Oh my god I can't wait to be able to read tonight. I wonder if I can let out class early. ;)

I agree Alyssia - Turning her was his way of showing her he cared. But he was thinking in vampire terms while she was thinking in human terms.

Let class out early! Or give them a test so you can read :D

So I wasn't going to say anything…but…I stayed up last night and finished the book. I blame Leigh.

I'm not going to say anything about it until Alyssia and Shahbaz catch up with us, but I will say that I like this series better than Night Huntress. I like Leila better than Cat and I like Vlad better than Bones (although that one is close!). I hope she continues with this series a bit, and quickly.

I'm still holding out for a book for Ian. Maybe I should stalk email Frost asking her about it. He is just the guy you really love to hate him, and I want to know his "story."

You still have to read the Bite before Christmas.
Also, I might finish tonight since all the cool kids are doing it. :)
