Hey is anyone reading anything interesting? It's amazing how some "non-spritual" books bring out some rather large spritual concepts. The Host by Stephanie Meyer is a good example. So whatever you're reading...I'm curious.

Myra | 19 comments Have you read Betty Eadies' stuff? Embraced by the Light, and I'm on her 2nd one now, I think it's Awakening to my Heart's Desire...

No, I've never heard of her.

She apparently had the most detailed near death experience than practically anyone ever has. Embraced by the Light is her story. It's beautiful - you've got to read it! And her second book, it's The Awakening Heart is about how her life was changed after she was out of the hospital - how the experience changed everything for her.

Peni Renner (penijo_renner) I have read Eadlie's books. I like her.
I just finished Gregg Braden's 'The Isaiah Effect' and 'The God Code.' He is BRILLIANT! I really wish I could grasp some of the quantum physics stuff better. THe first book of his I read was 'THe Divine Matrix.' If you haven't read him, I highly suggest checking him out, if quantum physics interests you!

Quantum physics is fasanating, Peni, but I also have trouble wrapping my mind around some of the concepts. So Braden a quantum physicist who applies that perspective to religion? I suppose I could Google and figure it out, but I gotta admit I'm curious.

Wow, wrote that message a little too fast! Forgive my missing words and mispellings!

Peni Renner (penijo_renner) Yes, Starr; in "the God Code" he explains how the Hebrew letters corelate to DNA. "Fractal Time" went way over my li'l ole head but when I can grasp what he's saying it's just fascinating!

Peni Renner (penijo_renner) I read Dyer's 'Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life" when it first came out, but had only gotten it from the library and didn't really absorb it. After seeing his PBS lecture on the book, I bought it and yesterday started reading/studying it, helping me with my Tao study. Gotta love Dr. Dyer!

Richard | 15 comments Not too long ago, I read 'Ask and it is Given' by Esther and Jerry Hicks. It's been added to my top shelf. Has anyone else read it?

message 12: by Emily (new)

Emily | 33 comments It seems I'm always reading 10+ books at a time these days! One of my current reads from my "Spirituality" shelf is Taking the Leap by Pema Chodron, a book rooted in Buddhist principles that is really helping me to maintain awareness in the face of suffering (my own or others').

I haven't read it, but I've heard of it, and those authors have written several books for adults and kids. I hear the message is similar to The Secret (which I also haven't read).

I once saw a PBS interview with Pema and was intrigued by her. I think she had just written a book. I'll have to check her out the next time I hit the bookstore.

Emily, you're a girl after my own heart. I would be polyigmist if I dated as I read. I'm currently reading four books ("Eat Pray Love", "Excuses Be Gone," "FaeFever," and "Solemate") flirting with another two (Short stories of Sookie Stackhouse and a Gaelic folklore book) and seriously committed to another four or five ("Light Emerging," "Hands of Light," "The Power of Intention" and lets face it, anything by Wayne Dyer, really) that have become constant companions!
