I finished the trilogy and I still don't get it, can someone please explain Jeffrey's purpose?? Why did he start the second fire? Why was he supposed to save tucker?

It never really explains why that was his purpose, it never explained why any of the characters purposes were what they were. I think it was supposed to prove that she would stay truthful to her purpose, to not stray because of her feelings for tucker.

i think that his purpose was to make Clara realize that Tucker was more than just a high school 'normal' boyfriend. If tucker was in a fire and there was a chance that he could die, it would make Clara second guess her gut instinct to be with chris and that's the past that she was going down.

it's not so much Jeffrey's purpose that i didn't get it was more the point that i wasn't sure about why it was pointed out over and over again that his wings were gray. we know that the color changes based on how much you favor the 'light' or whatever, but i didn't necessarily get the sense that Jeffrey was leaning towards the black wings at all. i think that he just had ill feelings towards a parent that left him (his dad) and being moved because of Clara.
