John Dolan Greetings, fellow bibliophiles and logolepts. In the unlikely event that our paths haven't crossed previously and that we don't share the same probation officer, let me introduce myself.

I'm John Dolan, galericulate** writer, perpetual traveller, inveterate chatterer and occasional smartypants. For those of you who are interested in such matters, I am the author of the 'Time, Blood and Karma' series. The first book in the series is the mystery thriller 'Everyone Burns', currently available at all good internet retailers and also at a few of the bad ones. Here's a nice pic of the cover for those of you with a visual disposition.

Everyone Burns by John Dolan

As well as indulging in this sort of sly subliminal advertising I also waste an inordinate amount of my time tweeting and blogging (details below).

I'm looking forward to seeing lots of deep, meaningful and witty chats on our various threads, and of course to spreading the word about great mysteries and thrillers. Just jump right in!

Please feel free to contact me anytime*** so long as it's not about borrowing money.

My site is http://www.rebeccaforster.com and twitter is @Rebecca-Forster. I have a feeling I'm not as consistent as you so I look forward to your blogs and witty-twitters. Great to be here.

Hi Rebecca, yup I'm your friendly neighborhood moderator - although "moderation" is not something I'm usually accused of. Looking forward to our chats m'dear :-)

Richard | 6 comments Great to meet you, John. I'm new to the group, but I must be in the right place because I just noticed my good buddy Rebecca Forster posted just above me. She's awesome, by the way!
Quick question: I'm one of the FanFest--part of ThrillerFest--hosting authors. As a sponsor, I get to invite 5 guests to join me at a book signing and private party that includes 20+ thriller authors, including several NYT favorites like Steve Berry, R.L. Stine, John Lescroat, and more. In fact, ITW Co-Presidents Lee Child and Kathleen Antrim will also be there. I figure many readers in the group would like a chance to be invited, but I'm uncertain where I should post about it within the group. Any advice?
Here's the link to my blog post about it: http://richardbard.com/?p=539
Thanks for your help!

Hi Richard. I'm going to start a new thread here under Thrillers and Mysteries just for you and you can post a comment giving all the dirt (sorry, I mean details). It will be entitled "ThrillerFest"

Rebecca, I believe protocol allows you to throttle the organiser. In fact, for the country music awards I should have thought this was not only permitted, but compulsory.

Peter Prasad (goodreadscompeter_prasad) | 33 comments Throttle the guy throttling the jug in the jug band.

message 13: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Forster (rebeccaforster) | 36 comments LOL, the poor awards had nothing to do with it - it was just everyone getting off on the wrong foot starting with the airlines. However, returned now and what a fabulous evening the event was. It was actually the Academy of Country Music. Spectacular entertainment, gorgeous folk in the audience. It was a superb setting for any genre. However, glad to be home and everyone is safe - from me :)

Pete Morin | 24 comments Hi John, I'm Pete - I've eaten fried oysters in front of Rebecca. For the curious, Rebecca hates fried oysters.

message 15: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Forster (rebeccaforster) | 36 comments Ah, all my boyfriends are here. Pete is right, I hate friend oysters but it took him long enough to allow me a taste. just saying if anyone goes to lunch with him don't expect him to be generous with those horrid things. HOWEVER, Pete is great writer. His book The Diary of A Small Fish is a super legal thriller but I have to shout out for his expertise in writing about relationships. The relationships in his book were sexy, fun, sad, marvelous. I hope there is a sequel coming (yeah, even though he's my competition).

Hi Pete, good to connect. And anyone who eats fried oysters can't be all bad - although I suspect your large intestine is pretty well screwed. Accordingly I have quickly sent you a friend request while you still have a pulse.

Rebecca, I just did a Goodreads search for Pete's book and it came back empty. Suggestions? It wasn't called The Diary of a Small Fried Oyster, perchance?

Rebecca Forster (rebeccaforster) | 36 comments I can't believe I haven't added it to my reviewed list. I reviewed it on Amazon. Doesn't Goodreads link to Amazon? I am truly a dork when it comes to Goodreads. And the one thing I'm sure of - Oyster is not in the title

No, there's no Amazon-Goodreads link. (Though with Amazon's takeover of Goodreads of course that might change ...)

message 20: by Peter (new)

Peter Prasad (goodreadscompeter_prasad) | 33 comments Poor 'Bec, never let me make fried oysters for her. Oh well.... I learned in Japan, dove for them myself off the Sonoma coast, beat up a Great White doing so, tossed in a few hammered abs and whipped up the dipping sauce. After that, it's a secret so holler at me when you get near to San Francisco. Yep, made mayonaise fresh too. Jaaa?

message 21: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Forster (rebeccaforster) | 36 comments Oh, wow, fresh mayo! Abs? Adore that. Okay, I will stop bad-mouthing fried oysters. Used to live in South San before it was cool to do so. Loved that city. So I guess I have to review Diary here and then you guys can find it?

Rebecca Forster (rebeccaforster) | 36 comments Okay, John. On my list. Review Pete's book.

message 24: by Peter (new)

Peter Prasad (goodreadscompeter_prasad) | 33 comments South SF is always cool. Abs is abalone. If you never, then come on down. Jake fetched them for Tanya in chapter six, before the big sex scene on the beach with one billion star watching. Jake never recovered. Tanya let out a bit on the lasso. I love my job. Email me for a free copy of The Goat-Ripper Case June first. Plus four friends with Kindle Fire. Mother Ocean is way into this. Might say she lappin' it up.

message 25: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Forster (rebeccaforster) | 36 comments LOL, I know it was abalone and I still love it. Seldom see it on menus up here. Thought they must be endangered or something :)

message 26: by Peter (new)

Peter Prasad (goodreadscompeter_prasad) | 33 comments Not endangered where Jake Knight dives. He knows the colony personally. And he won't tell anybody from L.A. Nope, sorry. Co. Hap Hazard and Sonya ate ever one at the Drake's Bay picnic, sizzlin' off the grille with a squeeze of lemon. They were ruffing it. Jake & Tanya stayed to get even ruffer. Wink.

Hi J.E. and welcome! Great to be able to talk to you properly and bust out of the Twitter straight-jacket. If I've been on there for any length of time I swear I start talking in shorter sentences :-)
