Shelton WA Reads discussion

Okay, so I have avoided reading fiction that is about the wars--WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Korea, even Iraq. But my beloved book club has chosen to read "Tree of Smoke." Some one help me get started, please. Tell me you've read it and it's great and I should get going. Club meets in a few weeks and it's a long one! Thanks!

Sorry. Haven't read it, don't know if it's any good or not. BUT, I know this: you like to have your horizons broadened, you like not being in a rut, and you like being up on stuff. SO, hold your nose, close your eyes, and just jump in. You'll love it. Or you won't. but at any rate, you will have an interesting experience.
