Have you been over to Janet's website recently? Janet has a brand new series w/co-author Lee Goldberg (who was a writer for the MONK TV series and books)! The first book in the series is called THE HEIST, and it is available on June 18th. THE HEIST features Kate O'Hare, an FBI agent who always gets her man, and Nicolas Fox, a charming con artist who lives for the chase. The tone is very similar to the Plum novels- meaning lots of fun!
Check out Chapter One and parts of Two! http://www.evanovich.com/2013/04/read...

Stay tuned to the group page for a giveaway as I've been in touch with Janet's team about getting some advance copies! Wooohoooo!Janet Evanovich

Shawna | 2 comments I think that the Stephanie plum series is iconic. It's going to be hard not to picture anything else for me. But I wish her much success with this new series.

Leslie | 19 comments I'm reading it now, just picked it up from the library. It's like a breath of fresh air getting introduced to new characters and a new and different story line. I've got some work to finish, otherwise I'd be finishing it right now!

Jess (ninjaturtlesaregnarly) | 9 comments I finished The Heist yesterday and I really can't wait for the next one. Janet is such an amazing writer.

Robin (ukamerican) | 11 comments I loved The Heist, not quite as hilarious as Stephanie Plum but very entertaining and a refreshing change of pace. Looking forward to the next one!

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Bought my copy and will be reading after finishing Eleven On Top and Notorious Nineteen...love these books.

message 16: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 332 comments I loved this book. Not only was is funny and a great plot (White Collar meets Leverage), but the characters were really intelligent and likeable. My favorite is Kate's dad, Jake. What a macho old guy. In this book, a lot of groundwork and background was established for an in going series and the romance suffered for it, but the attraction is hot.

TracyPixel | 9 comments I found the immediate chemistry a bit much. A little too in your face.
I do love the female heroine that kicks butt!! Such a refresh from Stephanie Plum (my favorite books), while maintaining the good humor and good read.

Jenny Regalia (jennyrph) | 1 comments kind of hard to get into. I liked MetroGirl better.

Also loved MetroGirl. Bummed that it's now graphic novel instead of a book. :(

I read Metro Girl on a white water rafting trip and keep everyone awake by laughing my head off all night. I also wish she would have liked to see more books instead of comics.

I liked the graphic novel okay...but I love book more.

message 22: by Bree (new)

Bree (breeshan) | 7 comments The Heist sounds great! Where does she get these great names... Nicholas Fox!! He sounds cute already:) And, in the Wicked series... a man named Diesel!!! That's the best name. I hope she finds time to knock out another Wicked book:)

Pros and Cons is a short story/novella, and I think it's only available on ebook and audiobook. It is the start of the series but I don't think you have to read it to understand the rest of the series.

Robin Mattei (memarobin) | 35 comments About half way thru the Heist - not as taken as with Stephanie Plum Series. Having a hard time getting in to it...anyone else having that problem

message 27: by DKT (new)

DKT (dkt13) | 12 comments My Mom and neighbor loved Stephanie Plum for years had bugged me to read them. Same goes for Death Series ~ took me a couple of each books to get into either series. Stephanie Plum I really enjoyed once I had a book or two under my belt and got to know them I zipped right through the next 18 or so. The Death series I am on B8 now and I am slower to warm to those, but I think with a series it just takes time and I think it's even more difficult to compete with Stephanie Plum/ Eve Dallas ~ any series that strong.

Might not be a total Bust... I will need to get that on my TBR.

Robin Mattei (memarobin) | 35 comments finished the heist. still not as taken with Stephanie Plum but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would and will read the rest of the series.

never heard of the other series you mention?
I am reading several series...maybe too any lol as they all have new books coming out soon. in addition to the Stephanie Plum and Wicked Series I also read Sue Grafton's alphabet books , the Kay Scarpetta series as well as one I love by Julia Spencer Fleming (Clare/Russ series),and I also just started Kathy Reich's Bones
may need to retire to keep up☺

DKT (dkt13) | 12 comments The In Death Series is by JD Robb (Nora Roberts ~ futuristic murder, very cool characters that you will get attached to, she does a lovely job of getting folks acquainted)series is super popular. Looks like you have a plateful, I think there is possibly 50 or so books in the Death Series:
Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb Glory in Death (In Death, #2) by J.D. Robb ~ they really are good but I am just not as hooked as my Mom and Neighbor are and I totally dig Stephanie.

I want to read the Alphabet Series. Almost pressed the go button on that prior to Virgin River ~ but the silliest thing ... my Ex loved Barney Fife and when I saw the character's name in A was Fife~ that was my sign. I also really didn't want to commit to a series with that many books right at this time. I am the worst when it comes to reading a series, I went through the Plum ones entirely too quickly. I am always in such a hurry to complete all the books and get current, so I am trying to retrain myself to enjoy the ride not focus on the destination.

I am going to check out the other authors you mentioned as well as I am not familiar. Julia Spencer though I am thinking Mom and neighbor read. For some reason before they Kindled up I can see her name elegantly written on book covers.

Have belonged to goodreads for a while but haven't been the most social so trying to expand horizons as far as reading goes :)

Robin Mattei (memarobin) | 35 comments I too read way to fast...once I get hooked can't stop...did entire Stephanie plum series including in between since early July as well as 2 of the Wicked, The Heist and one Kathy Reich's. started rereading Julia Spencer Fleming as I am on waiting lists for all the new books coming out by it seems every author I read lol
new to Good Reads and having some trouble navigating it on my phone...do better when I come off house internet and onto WiFi..to slow maybe. also discouraged by fact much seems to be old with little new comments in the groups...will keep plugging along and looking forward to the new books....

I had the same problem Robin! They're quick reads though so I'm trying to stay with it.
As for goodreads on the phone...terrible! So much easier on the computer!
