Mock Caldecott 2026 discussion

The Caldecott Medal is awarded to the most wonderful illustrated children’s book of the year. This year we can follow the picture books that are receiving a lot of attention and choose for ourselves which book we would pick if the decision were up to us. Kid’s books are not difficult to read so it won’t take too much effort, provided the libraries around the country have many of the newly published books, it’s going to be fun.

It's actually the most "distinguished" American picture book of the year. :)

Today at the TLA conference, I saw a lot of interesting books that are going to be coming out this year. I'm excited to see how some of these books fare in the coming year.

Me . . . Jane I am hoping that this one is a contender for the 2012 Caldecott. Loved it.

It has to be a contender. Great little book.

I would so love to see Me....Jane as a winner so far. I fell in love with it immediately.
