Dariel Raye | 42 comments Hi, bloggers! Tell us some of the subjects you enjoy blogging about and reading about. For writers and readers who blog, there's always a variety of interests. What draws you to a blog topic, and what prompts you to follow a blog?

Robin Morgan (robinleighmorgan) Recently I've begun to respond to Flash Fiction prompts from a number of sites. And I'm surprising myself and how well many of my endeavors have been received. One of my fellow authors I have phone contact with stated I'm doing quite well at it and that some of the very positive comment's are authors she knows are known and write quite well.

If anyone is interested in reading and possibly commenting on my endeavors click on one of the two blog links on my profile [I also have a web/blog site and a fourth blog site.]

I only respond/comment on posts for which I feel I really have something worthwhile to say.

Hey, Robin. I've been surprised by how well-written some of the flash fiction I've come across is! I haven't tried writing any yet, but I'm drawn to it. Keep up the good work. It can be hard to get notice of any kind in this industry ;-)

Laura Oliva (lauraolivabooks) I've recently decided to do a little more with my blog.

For the longest time, I would struggle to put up three posts a week, not really sure what I should be posting about. I'm a self-published writer, so I knew blogging was going to be a major way to get in touch with people who might be interested in my work, but I will be the first to admit I had no idea what I was doing.

As a romance novelist, my shtick is "tender love stories, tough people". Now, instead of mostly posting about writing, like I used to do, I've decided to explore what it means to be "tough". I'm blogging about tough experiences, tough people, tough places, tough jobs.

I would love to hear other people's thoughts, especially since this is a fairly new direction for me. Here's the address: www.lauraoliva-writinginthenight.blog...

Kathryn Loch (kathryn_loch) | 13 comments Perfect timing - I just finished a series of articles on Creativity and Marketing. I've been doing a ton of research on this subject lately so I thought I'd share some ideas I had along the way.

One thing for blogging in general, I set aside specific days to work on the blog. When they roll around I write as much as I can as quickly as I can, then split the posts and schedule them to publish. After that, I only have to worry about last minute edits, the publishing schedule is set and I keep an eye out for new content. The scheduling makes it easier for me because I can use that to work with my "content generation" days.

Laura - I liked your blog (I've got a couple of tough heroines lurking around as well. I started to read but since my bout with the eye infection, I had a hard time with the font and the background (most like this is not due to you but me simply getting old and now things are broken.) hehe!

Deborah (goodreadscomdeborah_jay) | 2 comments Hi! I'm a real newbie blogger - started last week - though I've been reading blogs for about 18 months now.
I started by relating my genesis as a writer, and noticed that at one point I'd referred to building my confidence - so that's what I blogged about this week :)
I'm a sports pro (rider/horse training) with 2 books published on the subject. My second, about competing, has a chapter on how to develop a Positive Mental Attitude, so I adapted this for writers:

Knowing how easy it is for writers to lack confidence in their product, I'm hoping this might be of help.

SQUEEEE! Another horsie person! Yay! I used to ride combined training but got old and brittle - concentrated on dressage after that. Unfortunately had to sell the ole pony about two years ago - the ole gray mare (me!) ain't what she used to be. lol! Glad your here. I'll see if I can check out the blog in a little bit.

Charmaine Pauls (authorcharmainepauls) | 14 comments My blogs consist of a variety of subjects, including essays, poems, flash fiction, promos and competitions. Funnily enough, the ones that got the most hits were the poems. I didn't expect that.

Justine Dell (JustineDell) | 20 comments Oh this week I blogged about what my mother did for me in terms of "marketing". It's quite funny.

First you can see the original post here:

And then the next day post when my mom got so excited from the day before she did something unexpected.

Gotta love those #1 fans! Ahem, family members ;-)

Starla B (missstarlamae) | 9 comments I blog, but it really has nothing to do with writing or reading. Currently it's a craft blog, where I post all of my creations (mostly cards at this point). With a newborn in the house, I have less time for crafting, but I'm starting to cook and try things I find on Pinterest. My recipes and pin-wins and pin-fails will be on the my blog, as well as any crafts I end up doing.

A.L. Butcher (alb2012) | 16 comments I have a reasonably new blog and at the moment it is mainly author, reader and reviewer interviews, stuff about my writing, useful links and articles and things like that.
