Probably A Serial Killer | 8 comments 18. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but the sad truth is, as teenagers, our brains are halfbaked. We can be reckless and impulsive, not thinking about the consequences, and often getting into trouble because of this.

I think it is fine where it is. They should base it off like are you responsible and get opinions, etc.. I know I can't wait to drive because then I get go to marching band, volleyball, church choir, Edison, etc.. without having to ask my parents for a lift and waiting for them after wards.

ShilvaH And her books | 207 comments RESPONSIBILITY is the major requirement. But what age? IDK.

a 16 yr. old can be more responsible than an 18 yr. old or vice versa.

Evan (sampsom) | 578 comments It's seventeen in the U.K. From your seventeenth birthday you can learn and then drive. Once you've passed your test usually after about 6-12 months of learning you can drive.

There is a problem as some people mature at different ages and it is the less mature that are bad drivers who are dangerous. The way that the U.K gets back at the younger people for being reckless drivers even if they are not immature is by charging very high insurance.

Where I live, you take Driver's Ed when you're at least 14 and a half and can get your learner's permit at 15. You have to keep it for a year without any tickets or anything (if you get any, you have to wait another 6 months) to get your full provisional license. Insurance for a 16-year-old is SKY HIGH and doesn't go down much for a few years because of the fact that new, inexperienced drivers are more likely to get into accidents.
