Building a SciFi/Fantasy Library discussion

Hi all,
I went to add books to the bookshelf and saw that we only had a few subcategories. I like these on the bookshelves of other groups I belong to because you have a quick way of sorting through the books. I went ahead and added some, and then spent way too much time perusing the shelf and adding my own books, categorizing. Of course, with over 900 books on there now, I only scratched the surface. I hope others will take a little time to go on the bookshelf and categorize their favorite books. I would appreciate it for myself, so I can look at books by category! :)

Personally, I think there are about 1/2 dozen authors who need their own bookshelf since they are so prolific.

You can check as many subcategories as fit the novel, so that would be yet another way to sort books.

This is my very first day and my very first post on Goodreads! I am a hardcore Sci-Fi fan. I have not found any sub-category for it. Can anyone direct me? I am a little overwhelmed at this point. Thanks!

Hi Leslie! You can add a category when you add a book. If the book is already added, click on "edit" to the far right, and you should get a pop-up window with the "shelves" aka sub-categories. Sci fi is on there, but if there was something more specific you wanted to add, you can enter it in "add shelf." HTH!
