wow-a lot of unforeseen stuff here for me...what a ride!

It does seem that the ending was a little TOO worked out just right, but at least with ELene's death it was still bittersweet...still ended a lot higher than I expected with the first book

Matthew (thorn969) | 34 comments I just finished this book, a few days late. I've been getting more and more pissed. At first I thought it was that women were being portrayed as objects. Now I've realized that it seems like everyone is always motivated by sex throughout the series. It's a really dirty view of human nature. People become gay because of abuse, but they still want sex with women and women still want them.

At the beginning of the series, Azoth becomes a killer to avoid sex. Durzo takes Azoth because he wants sex with Momma K. Then Azoth wants sex with Elene. And then Vi. Logan wants sex with the Drake girls. Then Jenine. Vi wants sex with Kylar and Jarl and to get away from sex with Hu. Khali wants sex with Acaelus. Dorian wants sex with Jenine. And all the other women he can get. At the end, everyone abandons the battle against evil to try to save their girl. Kylar gets pulled between his two loves. Lantano Garuwashi wants a big sword for sex. Solon wants sex with Kaede. Fier I guess wants sex with Ezra's hot tools. The conflict between Gyre and Gunder in the first book was about who got the better wife. Sister Ariel is the only one uninterested in sex... although I think she has a secret crush on Vi. Terah Graesin wants to keep having sex with her little brother. But usually the villains are those who can't get meaningful sex.

I enjoy novels that give me hope that humans can be better than that.

Shelley (shelley69) | 597 comments I finished this about a week ago and for me the issue was it all seemed rushed! And then at the end the little bomb that the twins Jenine was carrying, one of them might be Kalyor's child, yet he's not told was uncalled for. If you're going to bring that fact up, then finish the story line don't leave it hanging like Week's did!

At times I thought certain parts were rushed but overall I enjoyed the series. 4/5 stars

Heather | 1 comments So read the book and I enjoyed but I am confused on the Durzo flying thing, did I read that correctly and does that mean that Kyler can fly as well?

Shelley (shelley69) | 597 comments Hey Heather! Yes you read that correctly, Durzo can fly. Kylar hasn't learned how to do it, but I would think YES he can too!!!

Kent Calero (kentcalero) | 2 comments It was established they can change their form, why not grow wings?

Shelley (shelley69) | 597 comments I wish there was another 100 pages in this book and Weeks had went a little deeper! Someone said it earlier in the discussion, but the end seem rushed and lots of things felt unfinished.
