I haven't checked in for a while so I don't know if this has already been mentioned - but Zoo City by Lauren Beukes is a good weird creepy tale!

I'd recommend The Dinner or Ready Player One. I just finished both and they were both very good.

I didn't really enjoy Ready Player One that much - it felt like two or three decent ideas hidden behind very long, bland and unremarkable storytelling. Maybe it would have been better as an asimov-style short story.
