For the first post, I copied and pasted the duties for Team Captains, then added notes from our discussion in the previous thread. If anything needs to be changed, please comment.
Details about the duties and other issues to be dealt with by the Team Captains can be done in this thread.
I am still working on a second spreadsheet to keep track of issues and when they have been resolved.

General Info on using spreadsheet
Nothing needs to be entered on the Team Summary sheet. All the information we change on the Team Data sheet will automatically update the Team Summary sheet. I have at least temporarily put the Team Member names on the spreadsheet. Since they haven't actually joined the challenge yet, I have not added the links.
There is a short formula to follow for making the names link to their profile page in green at the bottom of the page, but if you can't figure it out, I can do it later and you can leave it as is for now and just add the other information to the columns as they are signed in.

I thought you'd be happy. If I was to assign myself a Team, it would be "Hobbit's Blue." Love that door and that color.

Did you ever watch the behind the scenes when Jackson referred to the door color as "Cerulean, or 'Hobbit Blue."

Is that on Hobbit or LoTR? My LoTR verion doesn't have behind the scenes.
Karen is studying for exams, so she probably wouldn't be able to do much. I guess she signed in before all that started. I'll add her to the spreadsheet.

This is what needs to be typed into the cell exactly
=hyperlink("web address of member profile page";"name of member")
Using my profile:

I went to the member's profile page and copied the web address, then pasted it into the formula. Don't forget the quotation marks or it doesn't work right. You can select the cell with a linked name then look at the top of the page where it shows what is actually typed in the cell to see an example. I can't get my direct example to show up correctly in this post. It always cuts it off after most of the link to profile page.

Okay, off to bed I go. I will figure out why the profile link doesn't transfer to the summary page like everything else tomorrow(later today:). It is not hard to copy and paste that one column if need be.

Since I already have Karen, I'll be monitoring her books. And since she lowered her goal, I'll increase mine to 200. That 160 would be changed few times by the end of the year in any case :D

I think the updating problem on the Team Summary Page has to do with the hyperlink. So once the link is added on the Team Data sheet, just copy and paste that to the Team Summary sheet. Otherwise, everything else should update automatically.


Why aren't you still sleeping?!
Melissa and md have private profiles so one of us should friend them. Since Jojiwoji said she'll be MIA, we can split team between two of us, or give her those with low book goals.

I am going to post on the thread to have our discussion thread opened now. I think maybe you should reserve the first two posts and I will reserve the next two posts.
Since you already know how to add images, maybe you could make a welcome post in the first one and I will use one of mine to add the link to the spreadsheet.
Then we will still have 2 more posts reserved at the beginning if something else comes up.

You actually have very good ideas here.. I've borrow a few :)
And the links to the shelves is pretty useful, since besides the number we have to check if the book is valid (page numbers, pictures &comic books, etc)


No, I'm fine with anyone. The only one I know from before is Karen. We should try to split them by number of books.
If you take Melissa and md-Mabel, I'll take Ezinwanyi. we could live Dee and Gemma to Jojiwoji (they don't have that many books, so she won't have much work). Or I'll take them too, and you take Sanz.

Most pictures can be saved. Right click on it - view image - save as...
To post them here, there is difference. If image is animated (moving) you need to upload it first to some site (imageshack, phobucket,..) and take link from there. If it's just image, you can copy link here (for now). Those pics that are copyrighted have something on them so you don't have clear pic.


I added the link to Ezi's profile and shortened her name since she seems to change the last part of it. I don't know if it will affect the link if she changes it again during the challenge.

@Turtlecollector - could you in that post with links, add some rules - books over 160pg, no graphic novels, no children's books, re-reads over 6 months, books after April 12th count, play nice... (I can't think of anything else at the moment ☺)
