Chatted to THE FOUR FACES yesterday,
They were slightly confused with the meanings of purpose, calling, function and identity.
They are putting their heads together and will present us with the answers.
READ ABOUT IT on Monday at http://rethagroenewald.com

What do you think these words mean?

Dalynn (dalynnrmc) Interesting thoughts. I'll look forward to seeing what you've to say on this.

I believe we all have a purpose, and that the Lord has a purpose for us, and we walk in that... or not. A purpose is a use, and we know that God can and does USE *all things* for His glory.

We all have a calling - something intended to grow us and to expand the Kingdom of God for His glory. It's a goal to work towards, for our betterment, and brings Him glory and honor in the process.

Function is proper operation. You can do something, fulfill a purpose, and not necessarily do it properly. You can also be one thing and "function as" another thing for a season... or for a purpose.

Identity is who God knows us to be no matter what our circumstances are - in that case, the perfect function of our purpose and calling. Identity is who we are created to be.

How close is that to what you've planned to say? LOL My thoughts and interpretation right this moment, anyway. Off now, screaming toddlers! ;)

Wow, DaLynn, I think you should have written the post and not me. That is absolutely awesome.
