I loved loved loved this book! but i've been kind of disappointed by looking for alaska, which everyone seems to like, I was maybe expecting too much; if if had read it first my opinion would probably be different. I thought something was off with the characters, which is not the case with tfios. Some people say that John Green's characters are too smart for their age, but most people who say that are not teenagers, and in my opinion, don't know a lot about teenagers.
I love tfios!!! It's just so witty and funny, but also heartbreaking at the same time. I laugh and cry throughout this book. I hate it when books play with my emotion ugh. And Hazel is awesome. I'm sorry my sentences are messed up but that's what happen when I talk about things I love.
I must admit that I've suffered a bit of "the Twilight effect" with this book, otherwise known as "the Hipster effect." Although I enjoyed it immensely when I first naively read it, after a score of Tumblr feuds (criticism vs. wild fandom) I no longer feel confident in saying that I love John Green's books. But then, I really did enjoy them so! Maybe I should re-read them to know with certainty what my present self would believe?
