Sig Rosenblum (sigrosenblum) I simply wanted to challenge myself. "Can I do it?" was the question. Can I write a mystery that people will like?

I had owned an ad agency and written successful ad copy for the blue-chips. I had penned speeches, articles, poetry, songs (ASCAP). I had owned a publishing company and edited and published a best-seller reviewed twice by the NY Times.

But I wasn't sure about weaving a puzzle, pushing a detective around a tropical island, confronting the bad guys. Could I do it? You'll find the answer, the reviews and the full first chapter at http://sigrosenblum.7p.com/

Thanks for looking!

Sig

Viviane Brentanos | 3 comments I don't often reply to posts on this subject; not because I am disinterested but because when I read of others' experiences, I feel a bit of a sham. I have racked my brains, trying to conjure up noble, hi-faluting ideas as to why I write and I came to one simple conclusion. I write because I enjoy it and {ok - so this two} because I wanted to read my own story in print. If anyone else happens to like my humble offerings along the way then that is a huge plus.

Harold (lmscott) | 9 comments The best reason in the world, for doing anything at all or buying a piece of art even, it is not a sham.
When I had completed my two books, "The Golden Age of Steam" and "Rail Revelations", I actually lost interest when it came to the comercial side of the venture after I had noticed the cheap price and poor quality of paper backs; especially the photographs, hardly worth printing usually.

Currently with renewed interest; due to having a dabble with electronic books that actually create photographs even better than the originals; that have a selling price from only six pounds each.

Perhaps this easy technology is ideal for you, and anyone else with sound interesting material available who like myself, prefers to avoid the use of professional assistants.

Cheers H.

Mike | 1 comments When I started writing, I set three goals: 1. to write for myself, 2. to write for my family, 3. to get published. The first was accomplished through the joy of writing, the second by giving my wife and kids a collection of short stories and the third through much writing and many submittals. Perseverance and the willingness to continue in the face of rejection is essential. I sold my first short story on my 112th submittal and sold the fourth novel I wrote.
