What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

The only characters name I remember is named Colin. It's a fiction murder mystery with a side of romance. About a little girl whose dad was killed and then the mother went missing and it looked like the town drunk did it. He had a son named Colin who grew up, became a lawyer and got his dad out of prison claiming he didn't do it and that's where the mystery came in. Who killed the dad and what happened to the mom. Plus, the girl and Colin had a connection and liked each other.
This title has been bugging me for days! I really, really hope someone knows it.
