Use this thread to post nominations for our June 2013 group read. Feel free to re-nominate something that has been proposed previously but didn't win. However, we request that you do not nominate something too new that might not be available yet to all of our members.

Nominations will close on April 27.

Sara Salazar (sarabarbosa) This is probably not going to sound as a science book, but i take as good science ficton book a exploration of ethics in scince, so i'm starting to read Neuromancer by William Gibson .

Looks like I'll be moving it up then. Thanks Kenny.

Trever (treverreeh) Gulp: Adventures on the Alimentary Canal looks like a good book that I would like to read.

by Mary Roach

Gulp Adventures on the Alimentary Canal by Mary Roach

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 368 comments I love Mary Roach, but isn't Gulp just out?

message 12: by Meena (new)

Meena (meenakshi_r) yep. April 1st. Seems good though.

Jeff Joseph the other brain- by R Douglas Fields

message 16: by Emily (new)

Emily I vote for the math book.

We already read How the Mind Works, in September 2012. Both Gulp: Adventures on the Alimentary Canal, and State of the World 2013: Is Sustainability Still Possible? are really too new and may not be available to everyone yet.

How about Spillover: Animal Infections and the Next Human Pandemic, which came in third last month.

I read this one, and I really liked it.

I'd like to nominate The Language Instinct by Steven Pinker.

message 22: by Aloha (new)

Aloha | 334 comments I read The Language Instinct How the Mind Creates Language by Steven Pinker . It's great. It's also currently the Linguistic Group's read. All I need is to refresh my memory and kill two forums with one stone.

I picked this one up too. Was only $3.99 for my Kindle. Looks good.

If State of the World 2013: Is Sustainability Still Possible? is not a good choice, then I'd like to nominate Professor Stewart's Hoard Of Mathematical Treasures: Another Drawer From The Cabinet Of Curiosities Professor Stewart's Hoard Of Mathematical Treasures Another Drawer From The Cabinet Of Curiosities by Ian Stewart Ian Stewart. This looks like a fun book to read.

I changed my mind. I would second The Code Book if State of the World is not a good choice.
