Jess Not sure if you guys know about this, but just in case.

I prefer this ending.

Sofía OMG! I didn't know about this! Thank you so much for sharing it =)

I prefer this ending too. The other was good but it left me SO heartbroken that I was a complete zombie for days! This one warms my heart ♥

And thank you Kate Avelynn for writing it! I'll be able to sleep peacefully again =P

Jess Thank god I found out about this alternate ending the day that I finished this book (which is today)! I was already bawling my eyes out at the last chapter.

To me, I don't care, this is the only official and original ending. :P It's still sad, but it's better.

Piseog Why couldn't this be the actual ending?!!!!

RIGHT!!!!! It would've been perfect.

❤️Melanie G.📖💛 Thank you so much for the alternate ending, it is a pleasant surprise.

❀ Crystal ✿ - PEACE ☮ LOVE ♥ BOOKS Was anyone confused as to why the hospital gave her abortion pamphlets??? Even with what happened to Sam I thought, oh, OK maybe she's preggers but nothing ever came of it....

And thank the lord for this. I had no idea there was an alternate ending. I'll just pretend this is the real one :)

Sarah Younan MY ENDINGS
1: everything the same except that james and sam struggle to get the gun. it goes off james dies, sarah crys for the loss of her brother and sam cries for the loss of his friend. Sarah and Sam go through with they're plans and have a romantic epilogue like after there married they have a son. and its name is James.
2: same except after james shoots sam the shot isn't fatal but he looks dead (or in shock) and james drops the gun and is apologizing to sam and sarah picks up the gun and shoots james and starts crying and blacks out (Almost the same ending as the movie Hick staring Chloë Moretz)sam goes to this hospital and lives and as he wakes up in the hospital sarahs asks him to marry her (or something like that! idk!)
3.http://www.kateavelynn.com/alternat...
they have one thing in common, james dies. in a perfect world james dies. it has a good tragic ending to it, cuz his obsession of trying to love his sister and keep her safe leads to him becoming his father and to his ultimate self destruction. and sarah and sam end up together and live a good life, happily ever after. maybe its not the most realistic, but hey i think it would have made a great tragic ending with still some good to it

Kathy OMG! Thank you so much for posting this! I read this in August of 2013 and it was still as fresh now as it was then. I still cannot think about this book without sobbing, so thank you for this better ending. :D

Jesse Freedom I do not like this ending(alternate ending #2). Sam is almost as possessive as James and the point of the original ending is for Sarah to be free of possessive guys who try to control her life. I did like alternate ending #1, but I'm glad that it ended the way it did and that Sam died with James.

Korrina I wish this was the original ending. I cried so much after reading this book. I'm glad there's an alternate ending but I can't think of this book now without sobbing. I agree with everyone else that is how it should have ended and I can't bare the thought of her losing everyone. Ugh this book broke my heart.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. Personally, I didn't like either alternate ending. The first one confused me, and the second one just annoyed me. There was just that feeling that Sarah was never going to completely move on from the past, that she was stuck doing what everyone else thought was best for her. In the original ending, she decided to attend a college that wasn't UCLA, she decided to major in botany. And the ending just had that feeling that Sarah was finally able to step out from all the shadows controlling her and into a brighter life that she could call her own. The alternate endings kind of took that feeling away and gave it that same feeling as the rest of the book, as if Sarah was never going to be able to move on. So in all honesty I much prefer the original version than the alternatives.
