Jacob Mandel | 27 comments I am curious as to what everyone would like to see as a movie. Seeing world war z make it to the big screen despite its mostly mediocre reviews what zombie novel written within the last 10 years deserves hollywoods attention?

Grep | 3 comments #1 Rot and Ruin (Benny Imura, #1) by Jonathan Maberry

I absolutely love all 3 books in this trilogy, and would make an excellent motion picture.

#2 EX-HEROES by Peter Clines
#3 NEWSFLESH TRILOGY by Mira Grant
#4 Day by Day Armageddon #1 by Bourne, J.L.
#5 Tooth and Nail by Craig DiLouie

They should make a real WORLD WAR Z Movie, put it on Netflix as an original series it would last for 3 seasons.

The Brad Pitt vehicle just wanted the name and has very little to do with the actual Max Brooks book.

Ian McClellan | 294 comments I thought Sven the Zombie Slayer by Guy James had some great characters that would be perfect for a movie. Lots of dry humor, which I love.

message 4: by Laura (new)

Laura Smith (killercurls) | 2 comments I think The Undying Apathy of Imogen Shroud by Ben White would be a great movie.

I also think What Zombies Fear by Kirk Allmond would be great! I've only read the first one so far, but it was great!

Kristin (Blood,Sweat and Books) (goodreadscomhermyoni) | 274 comments As The World Dies would rock. I believe Forest of hands and teeth has been picked up already and should be coming out later in the year. I'd personally like seeing Joe McKinney's Dead City series. Susan Winnacker's Weepers would be neat. Susan Dennard's Something Strange and Deadly could be cool with its steampunk element.

Mike | 48 comments Day by Day Armageddon #1 by J.L. Bourne
Tooth and Nail by Craig DiLouie
The Morning Strain Series by Z.A. Recht

*Suzy (ereaderuser)* (suzyereaderuser) The Newsflesh series by Mira Grant.

Steve Chaput (stevec50) | 139 comments I think Gerald Rice's THE ZOMBIE SHOW would be a kick-ass movie. It takes place after the zombies have mostly been controlled and illegal zombie 'shows' are taking place. These involve people being drugged and put in with zombies (some real, some actors) for entertainment. Undercover agents are sent in to stop one and break up the gang responsible. Pretty good book, with a nice twist on the zombies. Part of the story is even 'narrated' by one of the living dead.

I really enjoyed "Day by Day" and agree it would probably be a decent film, if the director stuck to the story.

Jaded (jadedmage) | 1 comments Forget World War Z - I would nominate Mace of the Apocalypse by Daniel Williams - Its the best zombie book I have read so far. The Characters are well developed and the story is just excellent. Mace is one of the few books I have read in the last 5 years that gripped me from the beginning and held onto me throughout. I could definitely see this being a major motion picture, if you haven't already, you have to read this book!

message 11: by Jacob (new)

Jacob Mandel | 27 comments Dang I got a lot of reading to do.

Wow, the story takes place in my old hometown of SF. I've added this to my "To Read" list. Thanks for the suggestion.

Steven (tbones) | 92 comments Ok this is an easy one for me both
Death Troopers and Red Harvest by Joe Schreiber
They are both Star Wars/zombie books
Just think the best of both worlds in one movie.
Personally this movie would have lines wrapping around the theater and probably sell out at the box office if these movies are done well.

Sara (bluesarat) | 464 comments Seriously guys get on the facebook zombie fest free ebook page it is brilliant loads of authors and challenges and freebies..I enjoying!

message 15: by Ian (new)

Ian McClellan | 294 comments Sara, I just did. Thanks.

Steven, Star Wars... with Zombies. Never heard of them, but sounds great to me.

message 16: by Steven (new)

Steven (tbones) | 92 comments Ian, yeah I've read Death Troopers and loved it and read the opening to Red Harvest in the back and was totally drawn into it. Could you imagine if J.J.Abrams and George Romero or maybe Frank Daramount got together to pull this off. I'd buy every toy I could find to this movie. They would make record sales in just the merchandise before the movie came out.

Storm troopers as zombies would be fairly daunting!! Fun isn't it Ian btw!

I just got a free copy Rhiannon Frater "Last Bastion of the Living"

message 18: by Steven (new)

Steven (tbones) | 92 comments Forget Storm Troopers for a moment and imagine a Wookie :O)

message 19: by Ian (new)

Ian McClellan | 294 comments Steven, you're an action figure guy, too? You should check out my pics. Just a few of many.

Sara, things are moving a little quickly for me there. It's kind of like why I'm not on Twitter much. It's like Facebook for the ADHD generation.

message 20: by Gina (new)

Gina (granolagina) | 21 comments Newsflesh definitely. Also, LZR-1143 trilogy and Aftermath series.
I will go see World War Z even though my hopes are not high for it. Brad Pitt is the big draw for me. :)

They would leave fur on the floor...euuw a whiffy wookie!

Felicia A Sullivan (ftjazgal) | 20 comments This one: The Last Bastion of the Living A Futuristic Zombie Novel by Rhiannon Frater

Yes, I did edit it, but it was one of the best books I have read that is not a classic PA/sci fi book.

message 24: by Jacob (new)

Jacob Mandel | 27 comments I think marvel zombies would be cool onscreen despite my hatred towards cgi

message 25: by Steven (new)

Steven (tbones) | 92 comments Sara, while the person is looking at the floor full of fur and thinking "what the hell" while they are still thinking about it their head is being popped off and being bitten into like a Carls Jr. burger...crrrrunch :O)

Ian, where do I go to see the figure pics, here or Facebook? Yeah I'm a big collector of figures. Walking into Comic Con for the first time almost put me in a seizure and I think my wife and kids were thinking I needed to be on one of those kid leashes :O)

Jacob, Marvel Zombies would be awesome and would sell out the box office too. They don't have to do it all in CGI. I prefer a mixed medium of effects but mostly live action. Hey I say they hook up Brian Singer with Romero and have Nicotero (hope it's spelled right) go at it with zomibie effects on all the Avenger guys my wife's got the hots for. Thankfully they added the Black Widow to the cast for us guys to have something to look at...I think She-Hulk should be in the next movie...some big green
(.)(.) would be interesting :O)

message 26: by Ian (new)

Ian McClellan | 294 comments They're in my pics here.

message 27: by Steven (new)

Steven (tbones) | 92 comments Oh ok will check them out :o)

message 28: by Steven (new)

Steven (tbones) | 92 comments Like the Puppet Master figs. I don't think I've seen those before. Love the Full Moon Enetertainment movies. My 2 favs are Pit & The Pendulum with Lance Hendrickson & Meridian Kiss of the Beast. Would love to see some figures from those ones too. Evil Ash kicks butt...I did see a Bubba HoTep fig at Comic Con...how about a Brisco County fig next :O)
Ok now we need a thread just for talkin toys from movies :O)

message 29: by Ian (new)

Ian McClellan | 294 comments Thanks Steven. Yeah, Full Moon is awesome, but it's been a while and I have catching up to do. I like the action figure thread idea. All of mine aren't horror, though. Big football and cartoon fan.

message 30: by Steven (new)

Steven (tbones) | 92 comments yeah I like some of the sports ones and cartoon stuff too. I don't own them but a saw a few Steelers players I wouldn't mind picking up. I even saw one of Terry Bradshaw in his Steelers uniform. As for cartoons. Simpsons are a fun series. The wife and I were able to find a few Plants Vs Zombies figures as well...Oooo A Plants Vs Zombies movie...I knew we'd get back on track with movies somehow :O) Just imagine all the costumed zombies for that one. Gotta like the disco zombies...my favorite is the old dude with the newspaper :O)

message 31: by Jeff (new)

Jeff Olah | 7 comments The Dead Years...

message 32: by Anna (Bananas) (new)

Anna (Bananas) This: The Reapers Are the Angels
The Reapers Are the Angels (Reapers, #1) by Alden Bell

One of the best books I've read it a while, zombie book or otherwise.

message 33: by Elizabeth, Zombies! Mod (new)

Elizabeth | 497 comments Mod
Newsflesh and Ex-Heroes would be awesome onscreen. It'll never happen, but Night of the Living Trekkies would be a whole lot of fun.

I'd love to see The Reapers Are the Angels on the big screen, but I'm not sure it would translate well. The power in that one is in the prose. Amazing book.

Jami | 5 comments I vote for the Zombie Fallout series by Mark Tufo. That's what got me hooked on audiobooks. Perfect balance of gore and humor :)
(Sorry- no clue how to link on mobile)

message 36: by D.A. (new)

D.A. Roberts (daroberts-author) | 5 comments I might be more than a little biased here, but I'd like to see my books turned into movies. I write the Ragnarok Rising Saga. Ragnarok Rising: The AwakeningRagnarok Rising: The Reckoning Ragnarok Rising The Awakening by D.A. Roberts Ragnarok Rising The Reckoning by D.A. Roberts
