Under the Sun:
Awesome. So let’s get the writing questions out of the way first so we can focus on what you really do. :)
So what do you write about? Do you any certain genres you like to write about?
Ophelia:
Well I write a lot of poems...err, I used to. I have some up on my profile. Mostly I write about dark things, suicide, sad things like that. Don't really know why. I guess because poems like that have a lot of emotion to them and I like writing that way. When it comes to stories...I usually write fiction. Nothing special. And I can never write long stories, gotta keep them short or I loose interest and forget about em
Under the Sun:
I see... have you ever been suicidal or anything?
Ophelia:
Nah not at all. Don't worry :')
I may complain a lot about my life, but really I have it good. I should be telling my parents thank you much more often than I actually do.

Under the Sun:
Good, Good.
So tell us about your paintings?
Ophelia:
Weeell, I like painting messages, inspiring messages. I don't do landscapes or anything like that, I'm not even that good. Whenever I feel in the mood, I just whip out some paints and I usually have some quotes set aside for painting when I have times like that.
Under the Sun:
Oooooh What are some of the quotes you've painted?
Ophelia:
"Truth is on the side of the oppressed", "fear is the mind-killer", "The Great Perhaps was upon us, and we were invincible" among others. I can't think of any more off the top of my head :)
Under the Sun:
I like those!
So what made you paint quotes exactly?
Ophelia:
Thanks Richard, and the reason I paint quotes is because I can't really draw people...or things. I'm just not good at it. But I've been told I have really good handwriting and I think I do, so painting quotes for me is a lot of fun.
Good, Good.

Under the Sun:
I see. That's understandable. That's really cool.
So let's go on to photography. What got you into that?
Ophelia:
Ok well I have a few pics up on my page if anyone wants to see them, but idk I think I got into photography last summer and all this year. I can't remember what got me into it, but it just happened. I like taking nature photos and still lives. Again, no people. I'm trying to save up money from working this summer to buy a really nice EOS Canon camera.
Under the Sun:
Oh Cool I'll look at those later!
Why no people?
Ophelia:
I just never have the right setting to do people. I feel like I can manipulate the picture more if its something..not alive, something I have control over. Make sense? I don't know..it's kind of weird Iol.
Under the Sun:
Sounds like you have the same thing I have with my writing... a god complex lol.
So what inspires you? (for writing, painting, and photography)
Ophelia:
What inspires me? Anything, really. Something someone said, an impulse, a need to get rid of stress or to relax. It differs

So what are your plans for the future?
Ophelia:
Ah, here comes the hard questions.
Let's see. Well I'm a freshman in high school right now, and you know I plan to make it all the way through (that's IF I survive the grind lol) and graduate. I honestly have no idea what college I want to go to after I graduate. A lot my friends and people in my grade already know places they want to apply to, and some even know exactly what college they want to go to. And I have absolutely NO idea. And it's scaring the hell out of me. But the thing is, people tell me not to worry cause I'm pretty damn smart. I make all A's (we're excluding math here, damn that math) so they tell me I've got nothing to worry about. But I do. I don't have the slightest clue where I'd like to go, and damn if it were up to me, I wouldn't even go to college right away. I want to take a year off after I graduate high school and work or something. I don't want to go to college right away as weird as that sounds. But my parents definitely would not be up for that. Also, I have to make sure when I do apply to a college that I get a good scholarship cause I 'll need one. This is all so stressful
Under the Sun:
Wow...
But what do you want to do after college?
Ophelia:
I've always wanted to be a doctor, so typical, or do something in the medical field. I always imagine what an amazing feeling it would be to have after performing a life-saving operation, or even assisting in one. But, just thinking about all the years of medical school I'd have to go through puts the idea right out of my head. Also, I can't really stand blood so that's not helping. But, I still want to do something in the medical field. preferably in the medical/science part. I really love science and I'm good at it, so I'd like to do something that involves actual medicine and science. But...that's really vague, sorry I don't have a better answer
Awesome!

Under the Sun:
I recommend talking to Fulgora from DA... I have no idea if she's in USED. I don't think so... but yeah... she's a nurse. She might be able to help with your decision.
So why medicine exactly?
Ophelia:
I think its pretty cool, medicine that is. Um I don't really know why else...
Under the Sun:
Fair enough.
What kind of music do you like?
Ophelia:
Ooooh, I love a lot of music. I like a lot of rock, old school kind of thing, and I hate country with the exception of a few songs. I love Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Switchfoot, Lana del Rey, Linkin Park, and I love the song Dancin in the Moonlight by Toploader. I like Rock Mafia, too.
And Fallout Boy :)
Under the Sun:
Well Cinderella let me be the first to tell you… you have terrible taste in music.
So how old were you when started taking pictures?
Ophelia:
Hmm, I don't remember "being ridiculed" was part of what happened during this interview..
So, I think I was 12 or 13 when started taking photos? Like i said before, it wasn't that long ago

Under the Sun:
Ridiculed? Just an observation from a friend... who happens to be interviewing you ;)
How old were you when you started painting?
Ophelia:
I started painting this year...it's not really a big deal. Just something for relaxation
Under the Sun:
It's a big deal to Under the Sun. Makes you the first artist who isn't just a writer. :)
Speaking of how long have you been writing?
Ophelia:
Oh lol cool!
Writing...I've been writing for a long time considering my age. My teachers in elementary school always told me how good my writing was in my report cards and I guess I started writing for fun in maybe 4th or 5th grade. My dad always told and still tells me that I have a gift for writing. I'm grateful I've had so much support from people in my life with my writing.
Under the Sun:
Coool.
So any last words, a quote, questions for me before I let the dogs loose?
Ophelia:
In the words of good ole' Benjamin Franklin, "The doors of wisdom are never shut".
Let 'em loose ;)

I have.....4 really close friends
Ooooh the bad event...well I forget when during the year it was but my dad caught me in a bad lie and yeah it wasn't good..kind of ruined my summer
Most people don't know that my birthday is on 9/11, not in 2001 though

I'd want to talk to Gandhi or some awesome guy like that...maybe he could teach me the secret to world peace? I really don't know

Rock Mafia..umm do they sing The Big Bang song? Lol that sounded weird.
Favorite poem? Favorite book? Favorite short story you've read on GR?

Poem--Idk if this counts but it's from Perk of being a Wallflower http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/11187...
Book, too many to say. In my top ten would have to be Redeeming Love (sooo good) and Between Shades of grey---no relation to 50 shades of grey whatsoever!
I haven't read much..Nate's journal entries, if you consider them, are pretty amusing

.."
just saw this, thanks

either riding on this terrifying roller coaster at Six Flags or doing a ropes course literally in the trees so high above ground. scared the crap out of me

I can do both. but mostly spontaneously, it's kind of a bad habit
‘Ello Cinderella. I am here with the privilege to inform you that you have been chosen by everyone under the sun to be interviewed in Under the Sun Every Day Just Comes & Goes. Do you accept?
Ophelia:
Seriously?? Yes, I do accept! :)
Under the Sun:
Awesome! Okay first as winner you get to nominate someone. So who do you nominate for June interview?
Ophelia:
Definitely Lou. Louise.
Under the Sun:
Awesome! Wait she’s in USED right?
Okay first what kind of artist are you? A writer right?
Ophelia:
Yep, I believe I was the one to convince her to join :)
Well, yes I am a writer, although I'm kind of putting that aside for a while. I guess you could also call me a photographer..and somewhat of a painter. I love doing all three. I don't really have time for writing creative stories anymore, with all my schoolwork now. But I take pictures everywhere I go and painting is just kind of a thing I do at night, more of an impulse spur-of-the-moment thing, lol.
