Ring out loud bells into the night (and all that folderol!)
In the interest of providing the best we can for Action/Adventure Aficionados Discussion Group, we would like to provide a better, more-All encompassing" news letter. Then it occurred to us...news-letters are so passe' then, a week later, how about a Blog - og-og-ogh (The echo is my touch. Things don't really echo in cyberspace any more than real space). Then we realized that, we aren't really bloggers, save one, and time is really short for us.
So this is what we would like to try. We'd like to see if there is a Member who would like to write, create or modify their own blog to be the Action/Adventure Aficionados - blog (news letter). On our part, we'd want:
A regular product pushed out on a standard schedule, weekly, monthly (negotiable, of course)
A blog either with a clear section for Action Adventure Aficionados or the title of the blog to reflect the group name
Functioning links back to the goup's home page
A preview (synopsis from the book file or back of the book) on upcoming group reads.
A preview of the "Book of the Month" (same as above) as selected by the member authors.
General news about upcoming releases (garnered through whatever sources you have, but no more needed than a summary of our Author Promotion folders (new entries). Surely there is more info than that out there that would be worthwhile.
Anything you think works for action adventure aficionados.
Of course we'd like some oversight but moderators function mostly as a group here and as a group, we understand that rules regulations and such tend to stamp out creativity. We'd want more of "command by negation." Command by negation is a navy term that means "Do what you think is best Captain and if big Navy doesn't like it, we'll stop you. Just make sure you make your regular reports so we know what's going on." Then, they lay off.
In return:
We would link your blog on the home page as prominently as we can (which may be in a folder set to be the top folder, and a thread set to be the top thread)
Give you moderator status in the group. Which comes with keys to the executive washroom (in virtual reality that can be as great as you like) and access to the A/A Moderators private group where we figure things out. A.K.A. the A/A Sausage Factory... you know... if you really like sausage... never ask how it's made....
Give our love and support (500 person group... good circulation maybe? Lots of facebook likes?)
If you are interested, respond in a PM to one of the moderators with what you are willing to do to support (it is your blog right?) and a link to your blog if you have one. Perhaps sample writing/reviews if you have not started blogging.
If you are an author, of course we would need a blog that does not favor one writer's stuff over another. That means your book can get no more attention than any other featured (though surely it can be worked out that you have a "About the Blogger" page where you can list your writing and have links to your books).
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
