What is a song that fits the “soundtrack” of your text?

For a “4”: Did I….
• Write a topic sentence that provided the title, author, and genre of my text?
• Provide context of what is happening in the text, so my reader understands what I’m talking about?
• Find a direct quote from the text that proves my idea?
• Thoroughly explain the significance of my quote/how it proves my idea?
• Check for correct punctuation and spelling?

THis song is about soldiers that wer citizens fighting for whats right and for the common people or the people around the world. For example this is related to Mark Owens because he was a citizen and he wanted to the join the Navy Seals to help people. This shows how the song and this novel are related. It shows real life reasons and the change from citizen to soldier. Another example is the line "holding the light for the ones that we guide from the dark of despair." is about the soldier's duty. This shows how Mark and HIs duty are the same. This song is like the role of a soldier and his path. Mark Follows this path and this song is like a soldier but in song form.

Karen (allergic2haters) | 37 comments The song that best fits the soundtrack in the book Speak is I knew you were trouble by Taylor Swift. One example that this song fits into this book Speak is that when it was Melinda first day at High School she saw her enemy Rachel and remember all the good times but until the worst moment happened in the past summer. This shows that this song goes with the song because Melinda had issues with Rachel and she didn't want Rachel to be in this school to be with her. Another example, Melinda was at a party at Rachel's house and then she realized something was wrong with Rachel's boyfriend then she called the cops, ruined the party, and her friend Rachel was mad. This shows that Taylor's Swift song goes with this textual evidence because Rachel's boyfriend was very awkward to Melinda so she called the cops to stop this party.

Ariel | 2 comments The sound track that that best fits "The Westing Game" would be little talks by Monsters and Men. For example, in the book it talks about how Turtle and Doug had entered the Westing building. In the song they had done the same thing. It's shows the similarities between the book and the song. Another example is that during the song they are talking about someone being gone, so in the book it would represent Samuel Westing being gone as in dead. This means that he is dead and not really alive so people will collect his reward.

Andy Chen | 44 comments The song that best fits the "soundtrack" of Christopher Paul Curtis's realistic fiction novel, The Watsons go to Birmingham - 1963, is "Say What You Need To Say" by John Mayer. The reason why this song best fits the soundtrack of this book is because this song is about committing to make a decision and just say what you need to say. It's relevant to the book because Byron Watson is trying to make a difficult decision whether to stay in Flint, Michigan or move to Birmingham, Alabama to live with his Grandma Sands. Also, because this song is about making a final decision and say it, Byron made his final decision, which was to move to Birmingham to live with Grandma Sands and have better education and better chance of getting a job. Therefore, this is why this song best fits the soundtrack of this book.

Bryan | 41 comments A song that would best fit the soundtrack of my text Tears of a tiger is something that is dark and sad. The reason that I think it is something like that is because Andy is acting all sad and depress about when he killed his friend. Another is because when I first saw this book I thought of like a big bad though guy going soft, which is why I thought a song that could be dark and sad would be good.

Sydney Mok (SydneyMok) | 43 comments A song that would best fit the book The SIsterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares is the song called Song for a Friend by Jason Mraz. I chose this song because it relates to this book a lot. The characters in this book are all really good friends since they were young and want to stay good friends forever. They used a pair of pants to stay close when they were all going somewhere else in the summer. This song is about good friends so it relates.

Jamilah B | 37 comments A soundtrack that bests fits the non nonfiction novel On the Court with LeBron James by Matt Christopher is Forever by Drake. Forever is a song about Lebron James and his achievements and throughout the video it shows clips of Lebron James playing basketball when he was little and when he got older. Lebron James is on the basketball team Miami heat so therefore the video was shot in Miami, Florida. Therefore the best track that goes with the book is Forever by Drake.

The song makes you feel better when you are down. Therefore, A song that best fits Chinese Handcuffs by Chris Crutcher would be "Firework" by Katy Perry.

Yamil Cifuentes | 40 comments A song that best fits The Book Thief by Markus Zusak would be First Time by Lifehouse. The reason why I chose this song is because Death (the narrator) talks about Liesel having a lot of experiences or stuff for the first time ever. Liesel stole a handbook from the cemetery. Liesel states, "I don't know why I stole this, I can't read and I don't want everybody to think I have a soft spot!" This shows that Liesel stole something for the first time ever to impress others. Another reason why I chose this song is because always says he want to do something for the first time such as reading, writing, etc. Liesel states, "I just to learn stuff." This shows that Liesel wants to learn stuff to be successful in life.

Kenjo | 41 comments A song that best fits the "soundtrack" of the autobiography, The Last Season by Phil Jackson is Space Bound (Explicit) by Eminem. Although the situation Eminem is rapping about is a different topic, the concept can be related to this book. For example, the lyrics, "I'll do whatever it takes, there's no limit on how far I would go, no boundaries, no length," can relate to the effort Phil Jackson put and was willing to put into making the team he coached more skilled. This shows that he was willing to do whatever it took to improve the team. Whether it was trading players or taking the time work with his players, he worked hard and did whatever it took to help the team. Another example is that this song is about Eminem's relationship turning abusive and what he was trying to do. In Phil Jackson's case, there were times where players' chemistry and style of play did not match. Times like those were what caused the team to lose playoff games and important games. This shows that both the book and song can be compared to each other and that they have similar aspects.

Aaron | 29 comments A song that best fits Eoin Colfers fantasy- fiction novel "Artemis Fowl the Artic Incident" is Not Afraid by Eminem. I think my book relates to the song I picked because Artemis is kind of in a do or die situation and he has to be gallant in order to save his father he cant be afraid just like Eminem says in one of his lines "you think it's stopping me". I put this quote because in the song Eminem knows that he is not that no one is stopping him and he is not afraid just like Artemis he knows that no one is stopping him from saving his father and he is not afraid. Therefore the song not afraid relates to my book Artemis Fowl the Artic Incident.
