Shelter in place? Run for the hills? Find a red cross shelter?

I find it fascinating that everyone has their own ideas. In the past I used to be a bit of a prepper with a generator, box of mres, solar panel and multiple weapons. Now I am down to a few bottles of water, a 9mm and some gas masks. Somewhere along the way I decided life just might not be worth living when shit hits the fan, especially if I lose everyone I love. Im a fighter but without my fam and dog I would prob go nutz.

So what would you do? Hide, fight, run?

I'd just enjoy whatever time I had left, and commit suicide when things got bad. I can't imagine any apocalyptic scenario being anything other than unbearably grim...

ooo.. good question. I heard once that the strongest instinct in humans is survival. So i think I would try and keep going as long as I could. It depends on the circumstances of how the world actually went all to hell whether I would run or stay put. I Would like to think that I would run, fast, and get my family together. I would hate to think that I could even think about "opting out", however, like Nicholas said, if everything you love is gone and the world has gone to shit, what exactly is the point in trying to survive in a world with nothing else to give?

I think as human beings we hope to be with our families in a safe haven, I just don't know how realistic that hope is.

The Fifth Wave is a new book that delves into this very issue. Im impressed. The main character has lost everything but continues to fight for survival.

Crystal you are right, humans are survivors and I suspect we would fight to the very last one of us. We are like cockroaches without the exoskeleton.

Yeah, I get worried, cuz I don't even have a gun. I guess my favorite apocalyptic scenario would have to be zombies, stupid, slow zombies. Not the fast ones. I wouldn't last a day if dead people became olympic sprinters in pursuit of of my flavorful bod. Aint gonna happen. Give me the slow ones, I'll find some high ground and survive as long as I can with what's left of my loved ones. Thanks.
