s the protagonist a dynamic or static character? If you aren't sure at this point in the text, predict how your character may change. Make sure to defend your ideas.

You may use RAFTAT if you are discussing a static character.

For a “4”: Did I….
• Write a topic sentence that provided the title, author, and genre of my text?
• Provide context of what is happening in the text, so my reader understands what I’m talking about?
• Find a direct quote from the text that proves my idea?
• Thoroughly explain the significance of my quote/how it proves my idea?
• Check for correct punctuation and spelling?

Ivan (ivanski711) | 30 comments In the book the Demond King by Cindia W. Chima I feel that my protagonist Han is a dynamic character. The reason behind why I think this is because when i first started the book Han was raised on the words wizard and bad, but as I progresed in the book Han gained an interest is wizards. Han and his friend Barker was on there way to go hunting fo deer when they stumbled across an amulate of sorts. Han now caries this amulate were ever he goes. This all show that how he has changed his thought on wizards and magikal objects.

Mark | 33 comments In my book The Warlock by Michael Scott one of my protagonists Josh Newman is a dynamic character. Josh Newman has changed to Dee’s side and he is no longer with Nicholas Flamel nor is he with his sister anymore. Josh Newman was a good guy and he was protective and he always wanted to be good and it’s ironic that he has changed and turned bad. Josh is a dynamic character because he goes through an internal change because he changes his thoughts about the good guys and starts to side with the villains and the other people who are starting to side with them, also he has had an attitude change because now he is a bit more aggressive but still he is also turning soft at the same time. This shows how my protagonist Josh Newman is a dynamic.

Matthew | 34 comments In my book Bad Boy by Walter Dean Myers the main character Walter is dynamic. Bad Boy is about Walter Dean Myers and him growing up in the book. I'm not far into the book But what I've read is that Walter makes mistakes and learns from them those mistakes. One example is that Walter Dean Myers slapped a kid in the face and for his punishment he had to stay in a corner for one hour. After that experience Walter Dean Myers learned not to slap a kid in the face.

Jack Brill | 41 comments In the book "Always Running" by Louis J. Rodriguez my main character is a dynamic character. For example the main character used to be involved in robberies, gangs, and drugs but now the main character has bettered himself and has quit doing all of those things and now does good things to help his community and also went to college to recieve and education.

Essam Alhumoz | 20 comments In the book "Catalyst" the protagonist is Kate, she is a dynamic character. The reason Kate is a dynamic character is because in the beginning of the book she despised her school peer Teri. Throughout the book Kate and Teri start to spend a lot of time together. Kate finally realized that Teri wasn't such a bad person. Kate and Teri became very close friends, because Kate realized that Teri was by far more understanding than the rest of her peers.

Justin Yu | 20 comments In the book , The Road, by Cormac McCarthy, this book is written in third person so they refer to the protagonist as the "the boy" and "the father." There is only one goal for the two characters, which is to survive. The protagonist has the same feelings and the same attitude which earns them the spot of being static. No special event occurred early in the book unless the world almost ending was considered an event but the book does not specify what the protagonist was like. This is one way to look at it from the static side. Another way that the protagonist is considered static is the plot. There is no change in it or special event and a lot of it is the same. Since there is no change, this character is considered static.

Elva C. | 40 comments In the book that I just started reading, "The Lightning Thief" by Rick Riordan, the protagonist is Percy Jackson. He is a 12 year old boy that goes to boarding school, and in the beginning of the book, Percy gets into a lot of trouble in school, and he also doesn't do good in school. He has hallucinations about things, and he doesn't know what it is. His mother is the only person that makes him happy, and his stepfather is a jerk, that takes advantage of Percy's mom. I believe that later on in the book, Percy might able to understand more about what and who he is, and will be more heroic for two reasons. One reason is Percy doesn't really know what is going on, and what people are keeping a secret from him. And when he showed up at camp half-blood, I think that Percy will be able to get answers about who he really is. Another example is, right now, Percy only really cares are two people. His mother, and Grover, his best friend. And while Grover and Percy's mom were being attacked by monsters, Percy is determined to save them. I think that later on in the book, he will become more heroic because since he doesn't know anything about the monsters that attacked, he can't really do anything. So, if he learns more about the monsters, he will be able to save other people.

Monica | 43 comments Die For Me,a fantasy novel by Amy Plum, has many dynamic characters and static characters. Kate, the protagonist of this book finally overcomed her grieving for her parents by focusing her mind on Vincent, the mysterious guy she fell in love with. With many weird incidents happening, for example, when she found Vincent lying in his room, cold and hard, barely moving at all, when that girl from the cafe warning her to save her from the following rock, Kate felt that all of this was related to each other. Finally, Vincent has spilled his and all of his friend's secrets to her. He had told her that they were Revenants, creatures whom risk their lives for humans, when they get killed, they awake after 3 days. From this discovery, it can be shown that Kate is a dynamic character, since she focused her mind entirely on Vincent's life and not on her family. In the text, on page 71,"I hadn't been to a museum since I had seen Vincent at the Musee Picasso, so it was with a sense of trepidation that I approached the Centre Pompidou after school." This quote shows that Kate has spended her life so far in Paris with Vincent, and by doing so, she has convinced herself in moving on from her parent's death. Her grandparents are more than happy to hear that.

In the realistic fiction book called "Zen and the Art of Faking It" by Jordan Sonnenblick, the teen protagonist named San Lee is a dynamic character throughout the story as of now. Recently of what I have read in the book, San still tries to be a Zen and trying to form a better relationship with Woody. San has been learning about lot about the people in his school and how they are related to his life. San has been connecting more to others lately. After moving into this new school from Texas, San had been connecting a little with his surrounding at first. Now, San is different and connects a lot more with his surroundings. An example can't be found because a dynamic characters occurs over a big time. A summary of the case is that San was shy at first to other students. After awhile, my character is more brave and open to others. This shows my character is a dynamic character because my character has changed due to his experience with life. San is now looking at a positive look of life instead of negative and is learning as he lives in the book. Therefore, San Lee is a dynamic character.

Trinity Burgos | 31 comments In the book Uglies Pretties specials Extras by Scott Westerfield, I think the character in my book is dynamic. Even though I haven't read enough of my book my prediction is that my character is dynamic because my character seems like the person who's most thinking about what's going on more than anybody else inside of the book. She also seems like the person who would make a change from what's going on inside of the book, and someone who might question most things that are going on which might change her perspective on certain things that are going on inside of the story.

Ben Friedman | 25 comments In the book "The Hunger Games" By Suzan Collins the main character, Katniss is not static. I think this because through the bok her view on life does not chage that much. In the start off the book she is a depraved looking and feeling person and at the end she is still the same way.

Kimora Irby | 25 comments In the book "Bad Boy" By Walter Dean Myers. The main character is dynamic because in the beginning of the book he would always get in trouble and start a fight with a student or teacher if they said something in the wrong way. Now as his getting older his learning that there's more to fight. In one chapter he was going up to read in front of his class and as he started to read one kid shout out something rude because walter can't read well. But he just ignored the kid and kept reading so he changed his behavior.

Melanie M. (MissMello) | 21 comments In the book "Drama High" By L.Divine Jayd is a static character. I say this because in the beginning of the book/series the spot light was all about her and her hair. Thats all she cared about and talked about. As you read more into the book she had a big attitude and sometimes when she talks you might take her words the wrong way. Reading more into the series , SHE DOES NOT CHANGE AT ALL. She just a girl who boys like , who cares about her appearance WAY to much. Therefore,My character is a static character.
