Polymaths and their biographies...

1) 'Love, Life, Goethe: How to be happy in an imperfect World (John Armstrong)' - I read this one 5 or 6 years ago and it is an amazing look at arguably the greatest Polymath of all Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. It goes beyond just a biography though an attempts to explain how you can relate Goethe's life experience to your own.
2) Malraux: A life (Oliver Todd) - A good bio on a really interesting (though possibly a charlatan), archaeologist (tomb raider), bibliophile, writer, art critic, pilot, resistance fighter, and politician.
Feel free to post names of polymaths you know/heard of, and title of their biographies(if you've read any).
