The chicken came first. Just like Adam and Eve didn't start out as babies, the animals started out as adults as well. That's just what I think.

then I guess you can believe any number of things about it

I dont know about chicken, but the organism (probably a single-celled prokaryote) came first before the egg...

I'm pretty sure there was a question in Harry Potter about this. One of the Ravenclaw questions. It was "What came first, the fire or the phoenix?" Luna said it was a paradox. So I'll go with that. ^_^

Off topic: Have you ever seen A Very Potter Musical (and it's sequel and the one after that)? It brings up a lot of nostalgia and I love it. If you havent seen it you should. No more needs to be said. :)

I think it actually depends on your religious beliefs. What I'm trying to say is that if you believe in God, then the chicken came first. But if you believe in the Big Bang and the evolution theory, then it's the egg.
Though I love Luna too, so now I'm sort of reconsidering my beliefs :/

Particles came from the big bang..

By religous theory, (sorry!) It would be the chicken, because noah put two of each animal on the ark.
Plus, you need a chicken to keep and egg warm....

(I feel like it bugs some people when religon comes up.)
