Carol (goodreadscomcarolann) When are you going to start reading them?

Alice, did you read them all?

Yes, Carol! I've read all three. These are my favorite books ever. :)
have you read them?

message 6: by Carol (new)

Carol (goodreadscomcarolann) No, but they look really good!

I'm working on writing two books right now (one biography -- will take a lot of time-- like a year or two) and the other is a short story (a lot less time).

I will have to order them, and see if I can make time. How long did it take for you to read them?

that is so neat! I didn't know you were an author! :D what is your biography about? and the theme for the short story? :) I'll be praying all goes smoothly with publishing and all! :)

You will love them- I guarantee. :) The first one hit me at a busy time so maybe 4 days? hehe ;) the second one I read over 2 evenings, and the third one I read the beginning one afternoon, and the rest of the book the next night. :) as a trilogy it took awhile cause, naturally, I had to wait for them to come out. ;)

I liked the series as a whole best, and its really hard to pick a fav... but I REALLY liked #3!!! (probably because the main character was my favorite <3). although I LOVED LOVED LOVED #1 because #1 is always amazing- meeting new characters, getting a feel for the author's style, etc. And #2 had dragons and ships!! :D so, its so hard to say which was my fav...but if I were stranded on an island and was able to pick one to read over and over I'd prob pick #3. ;) lol

Carol (goodreadscomcarolann) I worked in Marketing, Communications and Education for the American Red Cross Blood Services for many years. I've done press releases, newspaper stories, and periodicals plus radio interviews.

I am not yet an author! My biography is about a very courageous woman who lost her husband early and took over his prosperous business during a period when men would not take orders from a woman. This was during the civil war, she had great hardship, losing almost all of her children but one boy, who unfortunately died at sea as a young man. As a woman of faith, she always helped others, especially those in the city where she lived. She also supported an artist who became very famous and was friends with Mark Twain.

The short story is based on my fathers difficult childhood during the Depression. As part Wampanoag (think Native Americans at first Thanksgiving), my dad was treated terribly by an orphanage, and later his alcoholic step father, and alcoholic mother. It is his story of overcoming adversity and persevering.

Thanks for the prayers. I will need it!

Hey, mind if I complain about how my library isn't getting the series? Usually, whenever I complain about a book or series not coming, the book or series comes to the library faster.

Carol (goodreadscomcarolann) I just checked the libraries statewide, and there are no books by that title. So it's a great thing to get this opportunity to read the book starting tomorrow!
