Gail/Ladyvolz Bowman (ladyvolz) | 343 comments Listing my books here one by one has been very enlightening. I have weeded out books I will NEVER (probably) read and have been dumbfound to find out I have Book 3, 5, and 7 of a series.... or one I just listed shows as #18?! Every time I list one of these "out of order" books or books where I do not have nor have I read the entire series, I can't help but think of Ms. O'Cat and laugh. I do mostly try to read in order, but if I don't it has never bothered me (well except for the Reacher series where I recently listed to one where he was still in the Army or whatever he was in. that one did throw me a little) But that number #18, I don't know about that one. And the Mitch Rapp series, I've read one, and now have something like the numbers listed above. So Ms. O'Cat if you fell your hair stand on end at times, it's not an electrical storm nearby, it's me listing all my Out of Order Books...... which I will eventually read out of order..............

Ann (annrumsey) | 16926 comments LOL, Gail!
The Reacher book you refer to, if it was Bad Luck and Trouble, included a good bit of prequel sort of background if I remember correctly! (and was a very good entry) I must admit that the process of listing my books by author book by book here on Goodreads has illuminated some of the gaps in my reading of series books. I am not too worried about being out of order though!

I was wondering what that crackling sound was between my ears!

LOL, Gail, in my advancing years I find myself becoming more tolerant of reading out of order. Perhaps I've simply been mesmerized by the repetition of "UOOORs have more fun!" by some members who shall remain unnamed.

And, of course, Gail, you may now have free passage to do anything you want to do because I'm swooning in delight to see my first Goodreads name in the subject line!

Jan O'Cat, the one in the headline :-)
