I'm reading The Windup Girl.
This is a dystopian future created by a free market economy rather than a tyrannical dictator. Greedy corporations and destroyed the world's natural food resources while at the same time oil has run out and greatest energy sources has become human labour.
Has anyone else read it?

I've heard about this book. Do you like it so far?

Just started Infinity Blade: Awakening.

Yes I am really enjoying it. The world building is brilliant, complex and satisfying without an info overload. Even though it has multiple POVs I feel connected with all of them.

Zivan (zkrisher) | 22 comments I read it and enjoyed it very much.

I also bought it as a birthday gift for a friend and he liked it too.

This one really deserves the Hugo it got.

I recently finished Wake of the Bloody Angel by Alex Bledse, which I really enjoyed.

I hadn't really expected to like it because the Sword Edged Blonde, the one other book that I had read by Bledsoe, was pretty disappointing and I only read this book because someone had sent it to me, but I'm glad that I did. Although it's published by Tor it's not heavy on the fantasy but still very enjoyable.

Jon (jon17) | 64 comments Simcha, you didn't mind skipping books in the series?

Normally I would never do so but since I had the book lying around and nothing else to read I decided to risk it and it actually didn't really matter, as far as I could tell. I did have a basic knowledge of some of the characters from book 1 but I think would have still enjoyed this book without having read the first one. There didn't seem to be any essential background info that I had to know about the world or characters in order to enjoy the story.

Inna (innas) | 6 comments Insurrection by Robyn Young. Pretty powerful historical novel on Robert the Bruce.

I've just finished reading Redshirts and it was so much fun.

After reading Redshirts I decided to try some of Scalzi's other books and they are also really good, though not particularly similar to Redshirts. I'm currently reading the Old Man's War series, which I'm really enjoying.
