LaLaLa Laura (laurabhoffman) We're Jumpin' For Jane!

As many of us know, Jane Austen and her works have directly inspired many books, both fiction and non-fiction. For example, non-fiction book The Jane Austen Cookbook features recipes enjoyed by Austen herself and those depicted in her literature. Then there is Pride and Prejudice and Zombies "an expanded version of the beloved Jane Austen novel featuring all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie mayhem."

There are many, many others. Let's brainstorm the myriad of books inspired by her works with a small description.

Arianne Miller | 2 comments Bridget Jones' Diary is a fun read is its own right, but is also a modern take on the P&P story. For those a little slow to catch on to that, Helen Fielding even named the main male character Mark Darcy, and has several references to the P&P TV miniseries.

LaLaLa Laura (laurabhoffman) Oh I didn't know that about Bridget Jones's Diary! good to know!

Jeane (pinkbookdragon) | 323 comments Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict is one I have been meaning to read, maybe I will get to it this summer :) Actually I was thinking about starting a a group on goodreads where we read a Jane Austen influenced book once a month! But I have too much on my plate as it is.

That is a good idea, Jeane! We can at least start making our "bookshelf" on here! :)

Karena (karenafagan) All Roads Lead to Austen: A Yearlong Journey with Jane While not a fiction book, I thought some of you might be interested in this memoir. I haven't read it, but it came through my email and it's $1.99 on Amazon Kindle right now. :)

Kiss-koczka (kisskoczka) | 36 comments Ok I know there are a lot of books inspired by Jane Austen, I think the one I actually liked - and I read quite a lot of them - is the one that tells the story of Emma from Jane Fairfax point of view :http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/26...

But I was really surprised when I found these lists:
