Crazy for Young Adult Books discussion

Trisha and I will be reading Chain Reaction (3rd book in the Perfect Chemistry series) on June 1! Please feel free to join us! :)

I love Simone Elkeles so much! I still need to start her How to Ruin series, though.

I'm in the middle of chapter 8. Wow (view spoiler)[ she's pregnant at 15! That would be really tough! I loved how Nikki hid Luis's clothes! Lol That would have been so funny to see him standing there saluting and waving! (hide spoiler)]

I was planning on posting every 5 chapters, but the book pulled me in, so I didn't even realize that I was already past the 5 chapters mark! :)

Luis - not a huge fan but at least he seems like a good guy, just got a bad boy image. I like those kind ;)

Nikki - eek. I don't know if the answer to her test is Yes or No yet...but I'm worried.

I love their first interaction though. very cute!

I sort of agree Gis! Carlos was my favourite and I really liked how they dealt with the "gang" stuff in book 2....but book 1 was just sad :(, the Fuentes brothers, they were all so lovely - the epilogue in this book is so sweet I couldn't stop smiling when I finished Chain Reaction. I hope yous are enjoying it so far :D

Just finished chapter 30. I feel like they (view spoiler)[ became boyfriend and girlfriend really quickly. They only hung out like once? When they were on the boat? Then madeout at her house and had a little fun in the pool house. That's long enough to decide to start dating?? Little fast, right? (hide spoiler)]

chapter 40: (view spoiler)[ end of Ch 39 when Chuy is at the garage and so is Nikki. But then they talk and she seems to forgive him.
then it jumps two weeks to Luis' bday and she gives him the meteorite and then just decides she needs to have meaningless sex with him. and he gets mad and they break up.

I didn't understand why she didn't want to take it slower OR that it had to be meaningless. It just seemed out from left field.....I couldn't tell if she was still mad at him or didn't trust him or...what was going on.... and then he got all hardcore with the gang and blah...it just went crazy from there! I agree! That part totally threw me off. I felt like there was a couple chapters missing there or something. I loved the ending though! To me that made up for it. :)

I felt like Nikki was too forgiving! And yes, Alex as a dad was cute. :) I loved Paco! Seeing Destiny was kind of strange. Lol Carlos of course was an idiot when he saw her!!!

I was surprised too! I didn't see it coming at all!!

and I was so crushed by the choices Luis made once he found out. So sad that Alex and others kept it from him. I could see why he would be so upset :(

I didn't see it coming either!!! Completely shocked me! I don't remember there being any hints...

I was also kind of sad the cover of the book didn't actually happen...like that

but as soon as they mentioned that shower in the back of the classroom just getting installed I was like "woohoo!!! HERE WE GO!" LOL but the moment wasn't as....great as I thought it would be. lol ;p

I know! I was kind of disappointed too with the cover! At least they incorporated it into there somehow though! :)
