Maurine | 86 comments Okay, ladies!! Lets see where we're at for June's reading!

Who has gotten a hold of their copy of River's Edge, and who still needs theirs?

I'm a little over half way in A River's Edge. I'm excited to finally discuss a book together as a group!

message 3: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (zolaone) | 65 comments I am more than half way through River's Edge. I got it from the Rockton Library, when I knew it was there. I'm enjoying it very much. It is making me think of things in my own life.

message 4: by Meredith (new)

Meredith | 16 comments Is the discussion set to start on a certain day?

message 5: by Carri (new)

Carri | 44 comments I also couldn't wait until June to start, so I am about half way through it. I have the kindle version. So far I think it's great!

message 6: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 20 comments Well you are all way ahead of me - I haven't received my copy from the library yet....

I'm now almost done with the book. Couldn't wait. I will probably finish today. We could push the discussion date to the middle of June if everyone gets done in time.

message 8: by Maurine (new)

Maurine | 86 comments Confession: I stayed up last night till 2:00am reading River's Edge!! I couldn't put it down!! I'm a little over halfway through the book, and can't wait to start discussing!!! OMGoodness, I was even crying, no balling!! Seriously! Lol

message 9: by Beth A. (new)

Beth A. (bethalm) | 120 comments I was hoping we could start the discussion soon, but my copy hasn't even arrived yet :(

message 10: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 20 comments I looked for the book at Costco today - no such luck...

message 11: by Kate (new)

Kate (liahonagirl) I requested a copy from interlibrary loan, but it hasn't yet arrived. I hope it will come soon!

message 12: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (zolaone) | 65 comments Amazon.com has the book. There were some inexpensive paper back books, and the Kindle version was 8 dollars +. They deliver pretty fast. I would have bought the Kindle version, if I hadn't found a library that had one.

message 13: by Beth A. (new)

Beth A. (bethalm) | 120 comments My book arrived! Now, how quickly can I read it? I was thinking we would start discussing it on the first.

message 14: by Maurine (new)

Maurine | 86 comments Well, I must say it was a faster read than I thought... As the book went on, I found myself not being able to put it down.... I think you'll love it! I did!

Amber G. (lavenderbutterfly) | 289 comments Mod
I'm totally up for discussing this on the 1st! Maybe we should do a poll to see if everyone else wants to, too!

message 16: by Stacey (new)

Stacey Slatten (sslatten) | 7 comments I'm not going to be able to read this month... Just so you aren't awaiting my replies...

message 17: by Amber G., Group Creator (new)

Amber G. (lavenderbutterfly) | 289 comments Mod
Thanks Stacey!

message 18: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (zolaone) | 65 comments I finished reading River's Edge tonight. I loved it.

message 19: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 20 comments I just checked my HOLD at the library, I am #1 on the list, and it is being transferred between libraries. My branch receives books on Tues and Fri. So, with lots of luck it will arrive tomorrow. Sounds like ya'll read it quickly...
Was our timeline unrealistic - for obtaining the book and reading it by the end of June?

message 20: by Amber G., Group Creator (new)

Amber G. (lavenderbutterfly) | 289 comments Mod
I think the timeline was realistic but we have a lot of book nerds that treat a new book like Christmas! Ha ha We can't wait and we just want to rip off the wrapping paper and enjoy!

message 21: by Maurine (new)

Maurine | 86 comments Ha ha! That is EXACTLY my problem, Amber!! Lol

message 22: by Amber G., Group Creator (new)

Amber G. (lavenderbutterfly) | 289 comments Mod
For our next book, we could just use our group poll feature and put in all the book suggestions and then have everyone vote. Super easy, and might save us some time. Plus we can see what people are really wanting to read. Random works good too, though!

message 23: by Beth A. (new)

Beth A. (bethalm) | 120 comments I'm going to set up a poll about whether we would like to vote for books or decide randomly.

message 24: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (zolaone) | 65 comments I tried not to read the whole book, before June, but I just couldn't hold back

message 25: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 20 comments I now have a copy of 'Rivers Edge' in my hands (it did arrive at my local library today!). So, I shall begin this evening...

message 26: by Amber G., Group Creator (new)

Amber G. (lavenderbutterfly) | 289 comments Mod
I noticed no one is voting in our polls. Please do, so we can figure out which courses to take with the group.

message 27: by Maurine (new)

Maurine | 86 comments What polls? Where do I go to find them? Is it just another discussion thread? If so, what is the title?
Thanks!

message 28: by Amber G., Group Creator (new)

Amber G. (lavenderbutterfly) | 289 comments Mod
On the home page of the group you will see it listed with discussions, members, etc. top right corner.

message 29: by Carri (new)

Carri | 44 comments Just finished River's Edge and I really loved it! I'm ready for a discussion whenever everyone else is finished.

message 30: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 20 comments Ready to begin Chapter 14, but alas, other work calls for my attention today...

message 31: by Heather (new)

Heather | 83 comments This sounds like a good book. I'm going to snag a kindle version and get started next week.

message 32: by Amber G., Group Creator (new)

Amber G. (lavenderbutterfly) | 289 comments Mod
Glad to see you here Heather! And, it looks like most people can be ready by June 14 for discussion (according to the poll). Can't wait!

message 33: by Rachel (new)

Rachel John (racheljohn) | 17 comments I am about half way through. Beautiful writing!

message 34: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 20 comments Finished, and enjoyed it even through my tears.
