Sapir | 407 comments There are people that read hours and hours every day and others that spend max 30 minutes reading.

What about you? Are you a fast or a slow reader? How much do you read every day?

I'm in the middle. I can usually finish a book a day, but sometimes not. :) Today's a slow day for me.

message 3: by Mack (new)

Mack I'm a slow reader but I spend so much time on a book when I like it so I finish books quite fast. If I really like a book and I'm not super busy it shouldn't take more than two days to finish it :).

message 4: by Sapir (new)

Sapir | 407 comments It's a whole slow week for me!! I just have tons of homework. I never finish a book in one day, I'm a terribly slow reader!!

aimee (aimeecanread) (aimeecanread) I usually take three days to read a book but I've finished books in a day before. I've been getting slower, probably because I haven't read anything recently that really WOWed me. :/

I know what you mean! I have been reading all the books that I've been putting off because I knew I wouldn't love them, and it's really hard to read as long as I used to.

bookalicious.delights (Fran) (bookaliciousdelights) I probably read more than 5 hours a day. I usually get home after school at around 4 and do my homework for 1-2 hours depending on how much. And I read from like 5:30 to around 1 in the morning.
Haha you could say I read too much but hey...it's not like I'm watching TV or something

Wow!! You do read a lot. Are you a fast reader, too?
When do you meet real life friends?

message 9: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (starjoy899) | 65 comments I read approx. 4 1/2 to 5 hours per day, but during school I was falling down to like 3 hours per day. I've started to pick up my time again. I'm one of those kids who reads under their covers until 2 in the morning with a flashlight and chips.

message 10: by Sapir (new)

Sapir | 407 comments WOW that's a lot Elle!! How do you do that?!!? I barely have time to OPEN a book on busy school days.

message 11: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (starjoy899) | 65 comments Like I said... Power to the flashlight... and lots of tea that's caffeinated.

message 12: by Marie (new)

Marie Grey (themoodyreader) | 12 comments I usually finished a book in just one day, or two. It depends sometimes on my mood or the book. :-)

same here! :D

message 14: by Hailie (new)

Hailie | 11 comments I sometimes finish a book in a day or two if I have time. Although, I try to at least read a chapter a day.

message 15: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 11 comments I usually finish a book every three or four days. One or two if I have time and a week tops.

message 16: by Kellie (new)

Kellie (kelliesbookvenue) | 24 comments It depends on the book or if I actually have the time to read. When I do have the time I spend about a day or two per book.

message 17: by Katie (new)

Katie I usually spend at least a couple hours a day reading, probably more now that it's summer. I slowed down for awhile but the past few days I've been reading a lot. I'm a pretty slow reader, though.

message 18: by Rime (new)

Rime (curlyfries2710) It actually depends on the book I'm reading. If it's exciting, I don't feel the time passing. And if it's bad, I read 50 pages max.
I also don't read much when I have finals ;)

About to start (young huh? :P)

message 29: by Sapir (new)

Sapir | 407 comments No, not really. You must be... 13 and a half? I'm 14 and a half, I'm the youngest in my year.
And that's ok to be younger!! Don't feel left out or something like that. :>

message 30: by Estella (new)

Estella I just read I am on holiday so that helps but I am quite a quick reader I don't have a particular secret - sorry :)

message 31: by Sapir (new)

Sapir | 407 comments Haha that's ok!! I can't explain why I'm such a slow reader either ><

I'm not so excited to go through Year 9, because of the official exams or whatever they do.. It makes me nervous just thinking of it! Many of my Year 9 friends are failing! My grades are good, but it still scares me a bit :$

message 35: by Sapir (new)

Sapir | 407 comments You still have a whole year before that! I wouldn't have worried. They aren't as scary as people say. You just need to study hard and you'll pass them.

message 37: by Sapir (new)

message 41: by Maggie (new)

Maggie | 8 comments I'm on summer break, but since I'm working, I've stopped actively looking for books to read. I'm the type of person who can't sleep on an unfinished book, great, good, or bad - I can't even begin to count the amount of times I've lost sleep over reading!

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

I read a lot if its a good book. And the book I am currently reading The Return of Sherlock Holmes, I read one mystery everyday. :)

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

If the book really absorbs me I might read for one day or two (no matter how many pages it has) but usually I read 2-3 hours per day. It depends whether I have too much homework too. Anyway it never takes me longer than one week to finish a book.

message 44: by Roisin (new)

Roisin Lloyd (-roisind) | 4 comments I'm a super fast reader, I normally read everyday because I prefer books to movies most of the time, because I am able to picture it, and judge the characters better. I always have to a book on the go, even if I have no intention on reading it, because I have a kindle if I want to read a book it really only take 15 seconds to download. it never take me longer than two days to read a book, no matter the length. :)

Roisin Lloyd (-roisind) | 4 comments Lia wrote: "I can read about 300-400 pages in 3-4 (my average reading time) hours but I usually try to go slow because I don't want to burn through books too fast."

I kinda agree with you there, if i really enjoy a book and it's a series i usually try to spread them out by a month or so. But sometimes it's hard to resist and i have to follow it up straight away:)

Sapir | 407 comments Lia wrote: "I can read about 300-400 pages in 3-4 (my average reading time) hours but I usually try to go slow because I don't want to burn through books too fast."
How is that even possible? I mean, physically. You must be some kind of a genius.

message 47: by Yva (new)

Yva | 5 comments I read about a book a day... Probably read a bit too much :)

message 48: by Imani (new)

Imani Well when my schedule is busy it can take me like a week to finish a book because I will kept getting distracted and have to keep starting and stopping it . But when it isn't that busy or I know I have other books lined up for me to read , I try to give myself a maximum of 1-3 days to finish a book ( depending on its length ) . So I would say now , I read about 2 hours a day because I am a semi fast reader .

message 49: by Lara (new)

Lara (laracinaroglu) | 19 comments I usually finish a book(around 300-400 pages) a day (also if I have free time; which means about 5 to 6 hours). If it is a series and all the books are out it will take me a short time to finish them all because I can't stop myself! I want to know what happens next! If I end up not having enough money to spend on books, then you can find me at the library :P

message 50: by shrish (last edited Jun 22, 2013 04:10AM) (new)

shrish (orshay) A good book, like City of Bones, I can read in just a day. Which I did, yesterday. ;)
