I love this series, but I would consider them shapeshifters, although admittedly b/c of a Satanic curse.

That's true. Their psychic powers are due to their witchy heritage, but it's a huge part of the story.

I have this on my list to read at some point.

I started with book 1 of this series and just didn't like either characters from the start. Didn't get far into the book.

I actually don't recall the characters being shape shifters :P
I've only read book 1. Been meaning to read the next one but just haven't gotten around to it.

Hmm... maybe I'll skip book 1 and try another one then.

@Kryptonite, The Wilders all have the ability to turn into animals.
Two of them are big cat shifters, one is a wolf shifter, and one turns into a falcon.
I thought it was a good series.

Me too. The first was my favorite but they were all good.

For short fun reads I recommend the books of Viola Grace. These leads basically become superheros/protectors because of their various gifts. The books build on each other and are really rewarding as a whole. Not all are great but some are and all most are good!

This is a fun series

Now, just a lone little psychic on her/his own is a different matter. :)
Oh that's right, the Psy are definitely good for this theme. I love the Psy, by the way.
I plan to start the Heart Mate books sometimes.

Just remember another series... I've only read the first 2 books:

Also Kay Hooper has a series with psychics, but again they are more mystery. There are tons of books in the series (Bishop/Special Crimes Unit), the first one is

This was my first PNR series and it got me hooked!

It doesn't seem very popular, but I really enjoyed it. A different kind of idea, and the heroes are hot!

The spin-off series isn't as good though.

On the top of my list are the fantastic GhostWalker books by Christine Feehan. These are enhanced women and military soldiers who were experimented on by a mad scientist.
I would also consider the Sentinels series in with this theme. They aren't any specific race, other than being from another dimension and having enhanced psychic powers that manifest in various ways, although there are some vampires in this series too.
