What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Written within the last 5-10 years.

First in a trilogy or series.

Setting: Modern day

Protagonist: Teenage girl in high school.

What I remember in no order: Some problem with the girl's vehicle coming down the mountain. There might have been some cell phone issues, too. Some hiding scene (from vampire? Killer angel?) in a motel room with the male antagonist. Death of the possible romantic male lead, leaving the female protagonist in the sky / clouds with the male antagonist.

The story was vampire lite, more the girl was trying to make sense of strange things going on rather than it being completely cut and dry.

It was the "Need" series by Carrie Jones. (It only took checking out every book in the library system that looked remotely possible to figure it out!)
