Dogan Yazar (doganyazar) | 1 comments Hello,

My swedish is in upper intermediate level so reading books in swedish works quite ok for me though reading old books or the ones having deeper language are always a problem. I have read books from Liza Marklund, Martina Haag etc on my swedish course and well they did not have much literature value as you can imagine. So I want to get some advice from you guys. Can you please suggest me a bit deeper books that do not require advanced swedish skills.

Niklas Pivic (pivic) | 96 comments I'd recommend one of Bodil Malmsten's so called "log books", i.e. anthologies based on her blog, which is www.finistere.se (to possibly become www.bodilmalmsten.se).

The first in this series is named "Hör bara hur ditt hjärta bultar i mig", and I strongly recommend all of them.

Susanne | 5 comments And I'd recommend Jonas Gardell's Torka aldrig tårar utan handskar" Kärleken. Part 1 in a new serie. It taks place during the first years of AIDS discovery.

Simon We read Ondskan for swedish class in ninth grade. A great book and a great movie.

Susanne | 5 comments Have you read anything by John Ajvide Lindqvist? His first is Låt den rätte komma in? Or Hantering av odöda? Modern Swedish horror. The first is about vampires and the second of the dead waking up. But not traditional zombies. Not deep but fun reading for the summer. :-)
