How do we want to do it though? I'm guessing you guys are already loaded with buddy reads, we should read at our own pace but check back in every now and then - after 5 chapters?

Works for me! I'm going to try to get through a part per day, though I don't know how successful I'm going to be LOL.

how have you divided it up? we could actually go with that, just like the other buddy reads. Love your schedules!!:)

The book has literal parts in it! LOL for once I'm not changing anything.

Part 1 - Chapters 1-5
Part 2 - Chapters 6-13
Part 3 - Chapters 14-20
Part 4 - Chapters 21-24
Part 5 - Chapters 25-29
Part 6 - Chapters 30-35

Part 3 is the only long one but I'll read as much as I can tomorrow!

I just started! I'm only one chapter in but:

Thus far, it reminds me of Beautiful Creatures. The beginnings are both really, really similar. I'm sure the plots diverge soon, but literally switch the boy and the girl and the story is close to identical.

Done with Part 1. I'm liking it!

- I think that the Lynburn's are somehow involved with the weird animal skinning. Ash was too concerned about Kami investigating a bunch of kids in the woods (obviously its a little more dangerous as the ending shows, but he's new and wouldn't have known that)

I agree Ally! I loved Beautiful Creatures!! I like that they talk inside each others heads!

I only got a couple of chapters in so I will the rest of today's and tomorrow together tomorrow.

I like it so far too! Funny name for a town though! lol! I can't wait to find out what is going on! They can't ask about the Lynburn's? What is that about? Everybody has a sort of reverence for them and even Ash did when Kami asked him about his family.

I really want to read more, but I'm so tired! I definitely read more tomorrow! :)

I'm done with Part 1 too and proceeding onto Part 2.

I haven't read BC so I can't say anything about the similarity but I'm really curious as to why they can talk inside each others heads? Why them? Is it something to do with the Lynburns? Are we going to find out that Kami is something out of the ordinary?

oh and I find the town name annoying, it's long and for some reason I keep butchering it when I'm reading it in my head (yes I subvocalize :P) so I have to go over it twice which is...annoying. So to avoid that I just read 'Vale' I guess.

Alexa! Don't worry because I do that to, I may be worse because if they are in say England were this one is set well then I definitely have a Brit talking in my head!!! lol! :D

The name of the town keeps throwing me too! I think Kami is something special just not sure what. Also I think her mom may have a clue as to what's going on, or at least it's implied.

What is going on? (view spoiler)[ A hut in the woods? You would think she would know of this hut in the woods if said woods backed up to her backyard. Unless whoever is doing this just built it? I don't know, but it's really weird what they're doing in there! No symbols or markings of any kind as to WTH they are doing in there! And all the screaming! Who is screaming? The animals? I don't know, but now that Jared is finally in the picture (!!!!) I can't wait for her to go back to the scene of the crime! (hide spoiler)]

- Yep, definitely a love triangle. Except Ash is all cute and "I totally want to date you, you're awesome" and Jared is all rude and "I mean, we should be dating right now. And I wasn't asking for your permission." Hmmm... tough choice! There's been 0 evidence as to why I'd pick Jared (thus far), yet we all know it will end up being Kami and Jared in the end because anything else would be too easy (so I'm on the wrong side of the love triangle yet again! Darn.)

I feel so horrible Kathy, I'm so so sorry! I haven't had access to goodreads or any sites, I haven't been at home (actually I've had access to GR on my phone app yeah but I can't post in threads for some reason). I'm back now and I've got 20 pages left of Unspoken, shall we start Icons and Altered today then? and when we've gotten a bit into them - start Defiance and Reboot? Anyway my plan is to READ them all before this month ends and post spoiler tags in the threads so if you decide to start Reboot first then just post the usual in the thread (I think Trisha was joining us for that one too) and I'll post as soon as I get to it!

That's ok no worries! We can start Icons and Altered today and then Defiance later. I haven't got a copy of Reboot, I would really like to join you guys for that one, I'm just not sure if I'll be able to. I need to check my library and the status of the order for it.

I hate posting on my phone! So I know how you feel on that end!!

Ok I'm finished and I was really shocked too! There is so much going on in my head right now I'm not sure I can process without it turning into a rant! But I'll give it a try!! lol :D

I just wanted to head slap both Jared and Kami because they had the link yet they didn't know what they felt for each other. I was glad she picked Jared though, but then at the end they had that huge fight and I want to slap them again because they shouldn't be fighting at a time like that! (hide spoiler)]

I did not expect it to be the uncle! And Ash! And Jared's witch of a mother!!!! Should have seen it with the uncle though when they went to Monkshood and Jared talked with him afterward!! And to leave us hanging with the story like that! When does the next one come out?!? Have to look that up!!! (hide spoiler)]

wow this book has put me in the worst reading slumps of reading slump history.. I haven't picked up any book since we started this ugh but it was good!

I agree so much with you guys, the ending was shocking.. I didnt even seen that one coming (view spoiler)[Rob Lynburn? He wasnt even on my list of suspects LOL (hide spoiler)] but wow I love the ending of the book though, not your typical happily-ever-after-the-good-have-won-over-the-bad ending :D
Can't wait for the sequel! It's out late August apparently so yay.

Wow! August!!! My library won't have it in time though, bummer! I may have to go out and buy it or get it some how or other!!!! :)
