Layla stared at the flyer. "Should I go?" she whispered, to herself.
Noel came to the cabin and opened the door, he felt his hand burn but he still did it.
I've felt worse pain...
He looked inside to see if Layla was stll there.
I hope she didn't lie and just run off somewhere else...

Layla was down in her bedroom, underground. She started working on her secret project that Kayla and her were working on. She made some grinding noises.
Noel just beared through the pain and continued through the cabin, he felt that the heat was melting his shoes. "Layla!" He shouted through the noise.
He saw a door and was headed towards it when his head swam, he realized that he was sweating.
This is ridicoulous...

The grinding noise stopped. She looked up, to see Noel. How did he get there? She had oil on her face and her clothes. "Yeah?" she said.
Noel couldn't say anything, his mouth was dry and his head continued to feel light.
He didn't even feel it when he hit the ground, he only heard it. He felt the darkness swallow him whole.
He slowly let it sink in, so he could escape the burning.
He felt a stabbing pain in his head.

Layla's immediate reaction was running towards him. "Noel! Noel!" she said as she shook him. "Wake up, Noel!" she said. She put her two fingers on his wrist and checked for a pulse. Check. She put her ear on his chest, hearing for a heart beat. Check. She shook him again. Nothing. She carried him upstairs, and laid him on a bunk. "Gods, wake up already!" she said.
Noel shot back up, he narrowly missed knocking Layla's forehead. He looked around, his eyes wide and confused for a bit. he blinked and slowed his breathing down.
He swallowed, "I'm sorry."
He spoke first this time.
"I'm sorry." He felt like the room was moving but he found her hand anyway.

Layla grabbed his shoulder, and gently laid him back. "Its ok. It wasn't hard to bring you up here," she shrugged. "Lay back down. You need rest." she smiled.
Noel shook his head, if he stayed here any longer he'd fry his brains, he tried to lick his lips but thought better of it. His mouth was bone dry.
"Layla, I- I didn't mean... I came here to say I'm sorry." He held her hand in his, "I don't want to see you unhappy... I don't want to see you cry..." His words were jumbled on his tongue and he forced them out when he spoke. He was lucky that they came out in some order. Strange movement made him focus on the cieling. His head was actually spinning as he leaned forward and then he fell back, he struggled to breathe now. He couldn't stay in here.
The heat in his skull would have been enough to make him cry, but he lost his senses.
He held Layla's hand, it was the nly thing that kept him anchored onto reality. He felt the darkness approaching and he avoided it as much as possible.
"I can't stay in here." He let go of Layla's hand and got off the bed, he fell and landed on his feet like a cat. Stumbling he made it to the door. His hand touched it and his body recoiled, Noel fought his natural instincts and ignored the searing pain. He bit his tongue to stop him from yelling, muffling a whimper.
He was finally out. He fell on the grass in front of the steps. Almost immediately his body started to cool down, his ears pounded as the blood vessels shrunk down to their normal size now that it wasn't hot anymore. Noel breathed heavily, his head to the sky and his mouth open. He must have looked as if he had ran a marathon or something as he knelt there.
A marathon would be easier...

Layla followed Noel outside. "You need to go to the infirmary, immediately." she said. She helped him up, by putting his arm around her neck and helping him walk there. "You really need to stop fainting," she smiled.
Noel chuckled, "I don't faint... I slightly black out. There's a difference."
He straightened up after getting a good distance between the cabin and himself. "I'm fine now. I think it was just the cabin," he shook his head like his was getting rid of the excess waeriness from his mind.
So that's what it feels like to slip away...
Scary...
Noel still held Layla's hand though. "Listen." He pulled her a bit off the path and beside a bench. Some kids passed by holding beach towels. They giggled with each other as they walked.
He waited until they were gone. "Layla? I don't mean to offend," he raised the whites of his hands, "but why do you care if I am hurt? I only just met you." He bit his lip, "I understand that there are some kind people in this world, and most don't like seeing stuff happen to others, but..."
Noel looked to the ground and shook his head, "I don't understand why you would cry over my health." He laughed a bit, "If anything shouldn't I?"

"Oh I wasn't crying over you. Totally different person. And I've known you longer. I met you in the Dining Pavilion a week or so ago," she said.
Noel sighed, "Oh, thank God!"
He laughed, "Really? I don't remember, I should... Were you as hyper as you are now?"
He placed his hands in his pockets.
Man, my brain nearly got cooked for nothing...
Nice experience though.
Note: Never go into other demi-gods' cabins without knowing the affects...

"Yeah, I was," she smiled. Her high/side pony tail swayed in the wind.
Noel dumped himself into the bench, "I don't like seeing people cry... What happened?" His voice was softer now, less amused than normal.
He closed the eye that his bang covered, a trick he learned to rest half of his brain.
Or atleast it felt like it did.
After all that that occured in the cabin, he earned that rest.

She sighed. She could already feel the tears burning in her eyes. Not a good sign. "I don't feel like talking about it," she said.
Noel tilted his head a bit, "You probably should, it looks like you might cry again." He was being blunt and an ass, but itwas sort of tough love. If she didn't talk about it then the feelings would get muddled up and fester, like an infected wound and link itself to other feelings...
Didn't they teach you guys this in Lifeskills...? I've always heard about it before...
The boy wore a straight face, like it was a stand off for what move Layla would make next.

A couple of tears came down, burning her skin like acid. "I told you, no."
Noel sighed, he got up and hugged Layla. She was stiff for a while but slowly let him, "I'm sorry." His arms were wrapped around her waist and shoulder, he loosened a bit and his hand gently wiped away some tears. "I won't push you. When you want to talk about it, I guess... you have one more person to listen to you if he time comes..." He nudged her playfully in her ribs, her body twitched and Noel smiled, "ok?"
"Alright," she said. She forced herself to smile.
"Ak!" she said. She calmed down. "Hi, I'm Layla, and you are?"
"Ok.. Are you new or something? I've never seen you before,"
((No its ok.))
"Oh... wow. I really don't pay attention." she shrugged.
"Oh... wow. I really don't pay attention." she shrugged.
Elise peeked in through the window. Could those really be her half-siblings? They looked nothing alike, as if someone had made fruit salad with tomatoes and peaches, and pears. In any way, it didn't look for a nice combination.
Maybe it was better if she just left. No one had seen her sneak in, after all. But after coming here, something wanted to stay, as if, against all odds, she might not destroy everything here.

Elise jumped. "Oh, no, I'm just... Just trying to find my... um... er... Cabin, I guess. Hephaestus, right?"
"Yeah, right. Hi, I guess. I might not be sticking around, so don't really expect to see me here much." Elise rubbed her elbow and tried to wander off, but stopped and turned around. "What exactly is this place? It's a haven, right? But how does it work?"

The smell reminded her of an old garage, but she didn't mind. She'd staked out in plenty of old garages. Besides, there were enough marvels in the room for her to pretend to gawk at. She hoped that was a good enough reason to ignore the people already inside.
Elise wearily shook Alice's hand, resigning herself to the people who took a sudden interest in her.
"Yeah, I'm new, I guess." She sighed, exasperated, and just snorted out the truth. "Look, I was camping nearby and I heard some racket, so I came to scope it out. I find this camp of a whole group of Greek Freaks, like me. So what's really going on here?"
