Like her or not?

I lovve Piper. Mainly beacause my friends say I'm a lot like her. She is a unique character, and she definitely deserves to be liked.

I adore her character. However I dislike her with Jason. I wish we could've learned more about our new characters before shoving them into relationships that seem to be defining them in a way that Percy Annabeth weren't.

I think she's... Ok. Out of the seven, she's probably my least favorite. Kassi is right; she definitely DESERVES to be liked... But I'm a stubborn person... Sorry.

I like Piper as a character but in most of her narrative chapters in MOA we're boring for me. I think that she was a well thought out, developed character, but I kinda felt like uncle rick just pushed all the slow-moving patches of the story on to piper. I like piper but I don't necessarily love her narratives all the time.

What really bothered me about her in MOA was the fact that she kept putting herself down. It didn't seem like the feisty, anti-girl kind of person that Piper was made to be in the Lost Hero

I agree with you 100%! we already have Leo moping about being a seventh wheel we don't need another character doing the whole 'it's all my fault' thing. get your act together piper!

Piper has a lot of potential as a character but Riordan isn't really sticking with her character traits and some of the chapters with her narratives in it weren't as good as, say, Annabeth's.

I completely agree, Cherry! In fact, I found that a lot of his newer characters had good potential, but Uncle Rick wasn't characterizing them as well as he had Percy and Clarisse, and the rest of the old characters.

Erm. I don't really dislike her or like her. I guess I just don't really mind her..I usually just pay attention to Percy and Annabeth and none of the other characters xD

She's my least favorite character of the seven, honestly. She grew so out of character in MOA... If there was a way Rick Riordan could have stuck to Percy's POV in the series... That would have been better.

@CJ: I see what your saying about her changing, but that series and the Kane Chronicles are spin offs, so Percy isn't the main character of these. ;)

Piper's not really an idiot Uncle Rick just made her character a bit too Jason crazy.

I know, but... Shifting POVs... They're hard for me to follow, and they leave more room for OOC-ness...

I liked Piper in The Lost Hero because she was against being labeled as an Aphrodite kid and she had such an anti-bullying message. In Mark of Athena, she was so focused on Jason and their relationship instead of the super huge quest they were on to save the world. I still like her, but I liked her better when she wasn't obsessed with her boyfriend.

I didn't love her in MoA, but her ONE SCENE in HOH was awesome.

Hack yah! She's my favourate character. Though I'm still wondering why most people hate her.

Piper's awesome and all, but I feel like she's too perfect and who eats a PB&J when you have a chef to make fancy schmancy food for you? Food4ever!!!

My opinion on her was veryyyy iffy and unsteady, as she was preety much a whiny brat throughout all of HoH and MoA.

BUTTT than i read the 1st chapter of BoO. And I swear to you, my opine of a character has never changed so fast. Now I really really like her :p

Lots of people told me that, so i read the graphic novels instead. A lot less boring!

My friends and I have a 'cosplay' group, and I'm the character Piper Mclean. We look an awful lot a like, and we're both 'children of Aphrodite'. I don't understand all of the hate directed towards her, as I feel she is a strong character and stands up for what she believes in.

Just my opinion, don't hate!

She's...awesome. I mean, awesome. Not my favorite book girl, but she's still awesome. I mean, she's independent. I love independent girls in books; that's why I love Annabeth and Hazel so much.

I think that she tries a little too hard to get Jason in the lost hero… but otherwise she's great!

I like her when she's not obsessing over Jason. She can also be really cool and role model-ish. I did however feel like this : when she called Percy "unimpressive"

UPDATE: I just wish she was more developed.

She is a good character, has awesome powers, but..
She is to obsessive over Jason, always befuddling him to think about her, jealous of Reyna (when she doesn't need to, duh because Jason only loves her) Her side of the story, just doesn't seem that great to me.
If I was one of the seven, I wouldn't want false feelings put in me or whatever..
Out of the seven, she is my least favorite, she isn't that much experienced like Annabeth or Percy, when she tries to be.
Other than that, she is good and powerful,....at times.

I just can't like her? She pretends to be tomboy but I never met a tomboy that braids her hair with feathers. She's very possessive over Jason even though they're not in a relationship yet.

Isn't that possessive? She treats Jason like an object to be owned and not a human. She also threatened Drew with a knife and even if Drew is a big bully, that's just wrong. Didn't she also used her charmspeak to win over being the head counselor of her cabin? She is no better than Drew for me.

She's obsessive over Jason too. Have you ever red a perspective of hers without mentioning or thinking about him? I despised her at the Mark of Athena and The Lost Hero. HOH not so much. It's always about her looks. How beautiful she is. And everyone likes her even Annabeth! I'm glad Reyna didn't trusted her immediately unlike every other character in the series.

She also doesn't care that much for Leo even though he's the real person that's been with her and not Jason. Leo is only needed when there's an emergency that needed his fire and mechanic skills.

So yeah, I hate Piper Mclean. And bash me all you want but my opinion is not going to change.

I completely understand. although in real life I'm a tomboy with brown hair in braids... although they're always untidy. but I don have feathers... and also im always thinking about my crush who is blonde and blue eyed... creepy, no? at least there's no lip scar. so yeah I'm pretty much like her, in appearance and personality, although I'm not so possessive about my crush, and only my bff knows I like him. and she ships it. and... I dont threaten people... with knives. I kind of have charmspeak.. actually scare-until-they-do-what-i-want-speak. i only use it when someone annoys my bff or makes her cry. she's strong, she almost never cries. if she does, like today, I use the scare-until-they-do-what-i-want-speak, like I did today to an idiot of a boy. it worked... and my dad is famous... in my country. he isnt a cherokee but he has ascendents from mongolia...
and I got a friend who looks exactly like leo and loves to tell jokes. I never saw him work with metal though... so yeah my life is creepily similar to piper's

I do like Piper a lot, but she's definitely not my favourite. She's probably my second least favourite. I just don't feel like she's fleshed out properly. And because she's slightly obsessive over Jason.

But I do disagree with the person two comments up, because I'm most definitely a tomboy, but I like braiding my hair with ribbons and doing all these different hairstyles.

I like Piper, for sure. She's really friendly and nice to everyone, but although I think she's pretty cool, she's not my favourite character. Piper's a bit dull compared to the others. She didn't go through a lot, like Annabeth and Hazel, and her POV is slightly boring. She's also a bit too desperate to have Jason as her boyfriend, which I don't really like about her.
