With respect, I must have a somewhat different definition of "space opera." I clicked the links for both "The Daughters of Persephone" and "Her Cyborg Awakes," and both seemed more like space romances.

It's not my definition. I'm picking these up from this category on Amazon:

The vast majority of what I'm posting are only free on the day I post the message. Amazon gives the authors a limited number of days per quarter that they can offer them for free.

So the two books you cited were probably only free on June 19th.

Yup. Found it. Thanks. The amazon definition of Space Opera isn't always the same. They slipped in some romance novels, more like soap opera than space opera.

Thanks for the hard work. I just checked the link in your last message. The is a book on the first page First Contact which has one of the best description of epic space battles.

My point is: there are good books in there.

I do wonder what criteria they use for the various categories. I see a lot of things that I don't think fit. I don't even know if it is Amazon or the authors that determine the categories.

I don't know how many times I've seen a book under 20 pages long in the "EPIC Fantasy" category.
