Never Too Far discussion

Yuck! I HATED her! I hated her name, personality, friends, how Rush was so protective, everything about her! I think Ms. Glines wanted to create a character hated by all and boy did she! I've never had such strong negative feelings for a fictional character!

Does anyone here actually like her or sympathise for her just a little bit?

I don't. Even when she was in the hospital bed I hated her since Rush thought she took more precedence than his unborn baby. Causing him to once again miss an important part of Blaire's pregnancy. The man didn't even have the decency to give the woman a text, let alone a phone call! Now don't get me wrong, Rush and I are still an item, but that was wrong on so many levels for him!

I hate Nan so much!!! Gahh, she annoyed the hell out of me!
I really hope that when Abbi makes Grants story it's not Nan who he dates. Grants my favorite character hes so sweet and funny I just hope Abbi makes a character funny and bright like Grant, he totally deserves it someone like that.

Yeah I'm hoping it's not Nan either, but really, I don't think it will be. 1) She's already done the Step-brother falls in love with step-sister theme and 2) it'll be hard to redeem Nan for many readers.

ok...I have said in other posts I am on the fence where Nan is concerned. I do BELIEVE she is hateful, hurtful, and truly a Bitch with the way she acts. She doesn't know Love. Rush is the ONLY person in her life that has shown her what LOVE actually is in their own messed up definition of Love. However, I do believe a strong hand (maybe across the backside) and a determined mind someone could actually break her down and show her what true unconditional love is like. I would like to think that Captain would be up for the job. I can see him kidnapping her out to sea until she finally begins to Love herself enough to let others love her. I know...throw food now...it's ok

I actually like that idea of Captain kidnapping her out to see! Could be interesting......

(view spoiler)[Yeah I could see Nan and Captain connecting on the level of birth parents weren't there when growing up. So Cap can show her how to get over the hurt and try to reach out to Kiro like he did Abe. But Nan would be a little hesitant since that would mean she'd be related to Abe AND Blaire in law. I agree with you, but I think it would be difficult for Abbi Glines to turn Nan into someone merely bearable since the readers hate her so much ...

Agreed! It would be a hard sell for me to believe it.

Nan and Captian?? I have to confess I have never though about that... I certaitly wouldn't mind reading their book...
Now, bringing Nan back it might be complicated but it is not impossible... I have read books from other authors, in which the main character is someone you completly hated throughout the other books of the colection and you pretty much feel in love with them while reading their books... but we are talking about Nan..

That reminds me of the Something Borrowed books with Darcy and Rachel. I hated Darcy, but then she got her own book.

Nan can redeem herself, but she'd have to do ALOT and pretty much get a personality transplant!

I started reading a colection called "The trap Trilogy"
and pretty much everyone hated the twin sister of the main character, I even though about the different ways I could kill her if I was given the chance... and the second book is all about her.
I haven't had the oportunity to read it yet but from what I've heard she gets a forced attitude make over..

If Tarryn Fisher can write a book about Leah (Dirty Red), I think Nan is redeemable; do I think she belongs with Grant, heck NO. Initially, before the Perfection series, I thought she might be a good match for Woods because he was having none of her crap. He actually seemed like he despised her and she needs to be with someone who will make her work for it. She can't be with anyone who makes excuses for her behavior, and Grant falls into that category.

That said, she needs to fall a little further before redemption. Obviously from her behavior toward Blaire in the last book, she still hasn't been through enough to inspire some decency.

I'm a Nan hater too.... YUCK!!! Someone needs to put Nan in her place... Not with Grant... he's too good!

Pues a mi el principio se me hizo un tanto pesado, pero luego ya en alguna partes tengo que reconocer que me gusto bastante y que en el último momento con la historia que contó su padre me emocione.. Yo estoy con ustedes no soporto a Nan..No puedo con ella, me saca de quicio..Odiaba solo que apareciera con su enorme arrogancia. Ahora tratando de Rush me mareaba un poco con lo de " No volveré a fallarte " a veces hacia cosas por las cuales no debería de disculparse, pero bueno..Me daba un poco de lastima por como se tenía que ir arrastrando de tal manera..Pf, pero igual se merecía besar el suelo que ella pisaba por dejarla tantas veces sola y más cuando ella tuvo que ir al hospital "sola" pf.. Y Blaire me cansaba tanto con su negatividad.. Siempre le daba vuelta a lo mismo y eso me hacia que me aborreciera..Era la misma pelea una y otra vez por el mismo motivo o por las paranoias que creaba en su mente en que eran tan diferente a el..¿Y eso no es como debe de ser una pareja? Totalmente distintos.. Pero es un buen libro, no esta nada mal, es bonito y complicado al mismo tiempo..Te hace pasar malos ratos pero vale la pena, mucho culebrón. ♥

I completely agree with you! and I think Nan will have a book in the future... if you read Grant's second book she has her own chapter. Could be very interesting.

I stopped reading the series because of that c***!!!!!! I really couldn't accept all the nasty things she said and did. I don't read to be constantly pissed at characters and it was just too much.

Me too! And the way Rush is always going to her defense I couldn't take it anymore. Too many books to read that I don't need to be constantly P.O.

I can handle a little bitchiness but she was over the top. It was too annoying!

Rush only did that because growing up they where all they had. he didnt know how to put someone ahead of nan untill he met Blaire. It was something he had to learn to do. I thought it was realistic to be honest-some people are so tight with a certian family member-they really do need to learn to make that person second when they fall in love

LMAO!!! Ditto girl! When u spend more time pissed off at the characters than enjoying them then that's when u need to stop reading, so I did!!!

i just don't get the point of having such too negative caracter. i do beleive there are some people who are nasty and umbearable; but not that far away, like she have no mind, no heart either.

i did hate her the hall book but, i just told my self she's just a caracter don't juge the book on haw unreal she is

This showed up in my discussions tab so I will jump in as well on my thoughts of Nan.

I am fully a #NanHater. She is 21 but she acts like a 4 yr old who doesn't get their way. I can not give her excuses or a pass for her behavior. She is an adult. She needs to stop being taken care of and learn the struggle of life. Look at all the crap Blaire went through, her mother, her TWIN SISTER, her father, occasionally Rush, and she still was a pleasant kind person. There is no reason for Nan to act that way, I think she is a diva drama queen and every time one of them gives in, Grant, Rush or the like it will continue. Once they really stop paying attention to her she will stop behaving that way because she will be alone. In order for her to be redeemed, and I don't think she could be, she'd need approximately 5 books, and I just can't put myself through her crap. She's a blamer, she will blame everyone else for her not being loved, but doesn't seem to realize her wicked witch of he he west personality is a majority of the reason.

Her hatred of Blaire based on her having thought Abe was her father was stupid, not she is continuing that with Kiro and Harlow, she hates Harlow because Harlow has the Daddy figure that Nan never did. She is green jelly (jealous). We now know the book about Grant will be with Harlow, and from finishing Woods series that there is something there, unfortunately we will have to endure Nan's venom. I just really wish someone would have a full fight with her. The stuff she spewed at Blaire about the baby not being Rush's and her being a slut/whore and that she doesn't really love Rush was something I would have shut down. And Rush thinking he has to tell Blaire not to say anything to Nan!!?? Really!!? Um definitely not going to fly. Anyways at first I wasn't sure who was worse Angelina or Nan, but at least when Angelina goes she stays gone unlike Nan. I'd be much happier with her off doing something away from everyone else, or her having a freak accident that makes her have a personality transplant. You know like her falling and hitting her head and she has amnesia or something. Hmmm lol.

i personally didnt like her, but she was a bit misunderstood because of the traumas she went through...

I hated Nan so much I wasn't sure I wanted to finish reading the book's with her in it like Grant's story I don't think I can stand going through another one of Nan's freak outs through the entire book and how she is everybody's problem. It's just so annoying how one person can cause so many problems for everybody. Just because she's not happy and very psychotic, she doesn't need to ruin everybody's life. Like she did for Blair and Rush. But I'm just gonna have to push through it and read the story because I want to know what happens,for Grant and Harlow.
