It has not. That's a LOOOONG one. Would take us the rest of the year, probably. LOL.

Edit: Also, i know which novel you were referring to, but everyone, please, best practice is to include a link to both title and author of the novel.

message 5: by Glynis (new)

Glynis (missgmad) | 0 comments Sorry, I don't know how to do the link using my ipad. It is rather long. Maybe I'll choose another title... ;-)

message 6: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (kristicoleman) Glynis, no worries, just for future reference if you click the "add book/author" and then type in the title, that usually works on my iPad.

Still want War and Peace?

Okay, well let me know if you'd like to officially nominate it. I've already added it to the main thread, but I can remove it if you're not sure.

And yeah, I actually aimed for a short-ish one myself, since we've gotten derailed on the longest chunksters in the past.

message 9: by Kai (new)

Kai Coates (southernbohemian) Buddenbrooks by Thomas Mann Buddenbrooks The Decline of a Family by Thomas Mann

message 10: by Glynis (new)

Glynis (missgmad) | 0 comments I'll remove War and Peace please. I'm using the Goodreads App... Maybe I ought to try the full web version on the ipad. I'll think of another title to nominate and get back to you all. Thanks!

message 11: by Loretta (new)

Loretta (lorettalucia) You got it.

message 13: by Loretta (new)

Loretta (lorettalucia) I'll edit my main post to reflect this. Thanks Kristi.

I have to use the full web version if I wanna link book titles, sorry, I totally forgot about the app! I love it, but if I'm checking threads its so much easier on the web for me.

message 29: by Kai (new)

Kai Coates (southernbohemian) This will be my fourth time reading GWTW - I read it in elementary school, junior high, and college (about 15 years ago). Feels like I'm meeting up with an old friend.

message 30: by Alana (new)

Alana (alanasbooks) | 456 comments Yay! I haven't read it in ages but I remember loving it. Good time to re-read it!

message 31: by Shea (new)

Shea Ah, the pressure is off as a book I have already read has been selected. It hasn't been long since I read it so I can at least look at the discussions to see if I have anything to add. Enjoy the read!

message 32: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Heinzman (vasandra) Is GWTW for August, or start now?

message 33: by JoLene (new)

JoLene (trvl2mtns) Great --- this is also on my list of books to read this year (along with Wolf Hall). Can I successfully do 2 chunksters??? I guess we will find out!

message 34: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (kristicoleman) Sandra, the schedule will be coming soon, not sure about the start date right this second, but I will keep you informed.

JoLene, I wish you speedy reading ;)

message 35: by Loretta (new)

Loretta (lorettalucia) I think early August for a start sounds reasonable?

message 36: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Heinzman (vasandra) Yes, August, please.

message 37: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (kristicoleman) Loretta wrote: "I think early August for a start sounds reasonable?"

Are you doing this schedule, or am I??

message 38: by Loretta (new)

Loretta (lorettalucia) i've got a copy of the book, so I can do it. Probably this weekend?

message 39: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) I've read this 2X already. It's one of my favorite books of all-time! I've been wanting to re-read it! August sounds like a good time to me! :)

message 40: by Nina (new)

Nina (ninarg) | 84 comments This one has been on my to-read shelf for ages. I hope I can make the time to join in as for some reason this chunkster seems daunting to me but I so want to read it.

message 41: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (kristicoleman) Loretta wrote: "i've got a copy of the book, so I can do it. Probably this weekend?"

Great! I don't have a copy, I only have the audio. This weekend is wonderful! Thanks for scheduling it!

message 42: by Jen (new)

Jen (jeninseattle) | 140 comments I'm looking forward to this one. GWTW has been on my list for a very long time now and I've just never gotten around to it. This will be the push that I need!

message 43: by Jen (new)

Jen (jeninseattle) | 140 comments Can't believe it's almost August! I know there was some discussion about starting in August. I am happy to step in and propose a schedule if it's needed. Just post me back a message.

I have an old copy of GWTW, but I can probably snag a more common copy at the library to make a schedule.

message 44: by Loretta (new)

Loretta (lorettalucia) Sorry, have been too busy to post it.

Would you all like to start this weekend or the weekend after?

message 45: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Heinzman (vasandra) I vote for weekend after!

message 46: by JoLene (new)

JoLene (trvl2mtns) I'm OK to start the weekend after.

message 47: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) The weekend after works for me. I'm so excited about this! :)

message 48: by Loretta (new)

Loretta (lorettalucia) Cool guys. I actually have the book right here. Time to start tabbing it and get a schedule together.
