message 5: by MischaS_ (new)

MischaS_ I read 3 of these and I want to read other, but my to-read list is extremely long :D

message 6: by dyanne (new)

dyanne Hey, can anyone tell me what they thought of the books
1) The wolf of wall street
2) The Spectacular now
3) Gone girl
and how I should prioritize them?

The Maze Runner, Divergent, Ender's Game, The Book Thief, and the Fault in our Stars are amazing. :D
So excited for the movie!

How do you like the book thief?

Jessica gone girl and the fault in our stars are both really really good.

message 10: by Vera (new)

Vera (curiouslyintrigued) | 1 comments Thanks for this list! So far I have read 2 of the books and gone and seen the movie afterwards. Excited to read the book thief and then go watch it afterwards. Now I have a few more to add and look forward to watching!

message 11: by Mara (new)

Mara GR (maragtzr) The Book thief is awesome but the movie ruined it. Terrible adaptation. I'm dying to see The Maze Runner in the big screen.

message 12: by Pam (new)

Pam Williams | 5 comments Mara, I feel the total opposite about the movie, The Book Thief. I loved the book and felt like the movie was very true to the story. It's one of my favorite adaptations, up there with The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Hugo. I'm really looking forward to The Fault in Our Stars.

Alison (gleefulgirl) | 11 comments I'm sure it was a very difficult task to take on adapting 'The Book Thief' and I think they did a good job :) Yes they missed out on some interesting parts but they got the essence of the story through.
Gone Girl, The Fault in Our Stars, City of Bones and Divergent are all excellent books! Can't wait to get stuck into the rest. I have to say Serena is on the top of my rather large 'to-read' list! Can't wait for the movie; Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper are the main characters in the film!

message 14: by Liz (new)

Liz (hissheep) Have read and seen Divergent and read Fault in Our Stars. Since I prefer reading first, guess I have a lot ot reading time ahead of me!

There are two listed that I just couldn't get into - The Book Thief and Gone Girl. I read Gillian Flynn's first novel but didn't like it so figured I probably wouldn't like Gone Girl?!?

The Book Thief is really good though! I'd give it a second go; it's definitely worth it.
'Gone Girl' is a brilliant book too. There's plenty of plot twists and it'll keep you hooked. I haven't read any other books by Gillian Flynn so I can't compare but I found this book good.

Thanks for the encouragement Alison ... I will give both another try ;o)

nao (krissh) | 4 comments I've only read four of those, but I am currently reading The Maze Runner and The Book Thief. I already watched both movies (oops) but I know I will be hating on the moves once I've finished the books. A lot of movies don't meet the expectations of readers and one of the only exceptions I've seen is 'The Princess Bride' and it was an awesome movie
