Yeah, I love his poetry. But his prose... My, oh my. Everything except Pulp is a must-read.

Both great reads. My favourite is Ham on Rye, though. I think it stands above all other Bukowski works.


I never heard of that one. I read maybe 7 or 8 of him, but not those ones. My favourite is Ham on Rye.
And his recommendations are great! I love John Fante, and met him through Bukowski.


I liked that too, but my favourite was Brotherhood of the Grape!


No, I bought it though. That one and another one by Celine, but I started by the other one and found it horrific. I'm trying to recover from the trauma and give the one you talked about a chance.


Yeah, he didn't sound anti-Semitic in that book, but he just kept drooling on how people attacked him and how he was persecuted, etc. Very dull.
