What motivates the main character in your book? What does he/she want? What is he/she trying to accomplish? If your book is non-fiction, describe the most interesting thing you have learned.

Walter Dean Myers
Fights get him motivated. He wants to quit being picked on and to be cool. He wants to be inside the in crowd and wants to be known.

message 3: by Kenesha (new)

Kenesha (niecey) | 27 comments There are two main characters in the book. Emily and Natasha. Emily is trying to escape the breakup with her boyfriend back in England, and Natasha aka Tasha, is trying to escape the constant talk about her and her littl stunt in the hot tub with a well known celebrity in California. What motivates them, is their need to make things right for them again, and to forget about what happened back at home. The most important thing I learned is to not allow gossip to rule our lives and to becarful about the situation we get into. I also learned that we can't allow other people to decide who we are or what we are going to do in our lives, we have to learn that on our own.

What motivates the main character in your book? Both of the main characters in the beginning, Mariam and Laila, were motivated by family and as of where I am now, Laila seems to be motivated with the love for her baby and Mariam from not wanting to be left out. They are both trying to survive the world of war and how to deal with the strict rules for the Afghan women.

Adilene Macedo | 27 comments The Invisible Man/H.G Wells
What motivates the main character is that he goes into this town on in which people think that all the stuff that is happening to them is thanks to miracles but it is actually not and he is the one doing the things to make them become possible

Gina Lamm | 27 comments The Boy in the Striped Pajamas/John Boyne

Exploring motivates the main character. Bruno wants new friends since he moved. He's bored and has noone to play with.

Anthony Jaques | 25 comments Slumdog millionaire / Vikas Swarup

the main character at this point in the story is just trying to survive. He is a poor child in India and is living only for himself.

Tanisha Williams | 25 comments I didn't have a main character, but the two characters.
Tariq the quiet more observed twin his motives was to be loved, or find someone who loved him as much as his mother did, since she died.
Shane's motives were different, he was looking for motherly love, but he was trying to find this type of love in sex, and getting caught up.. Since he was the oldest twin, and he looked like his father, who raped his mother, his mother treated him worse than the other, such as when it came to breast feeding he never was fulfilled, so as he got other he was clinging to older women and women with breast milk, which caused him to loose his brother and his sanity.

Julianna Clemmer | 17 comments Knight of Darkness/Kinely MacGregor

The thought of returning home motivates Varian while wanting to keep her beauty and stay away from Narishka and Morgen le Fey motivates Merewyn. Varian and Merewyn both just want to return to Avalon, while remaining alive and protecting the rest of the Knights of the Grail in order to keep Morgen from becoming more powerful.

message 12: by Sean Hayes (new)

Sean Hayes | 10 comments The most interesting thing to me is when he got his boxing license back after having it stripped from him for not going to Vietnam. He first fought in Georgia where there was no boxing commission, then the state of New York ruled that he was unjustly denied a boxing license, eventually paving the way the for the fight of the century against Joe Frazier.

What motivates the main character in my book is the love she has for her husband no matter who stands in her way; not even her ex-love that she thought was dead. Also how she wants everything to go back to how it was before, forgetting about her old life, old love, and get back to what is real and true in her life now.

My main character is a clone on the death star motivated by his duty to serve the Empire. I have learned that even the clones hate taking orders from Vader.
