The haze clears out
Freeing my mind from
All that stress and rubble
Not wasting any more precious time.
How could I have been so blind to
The beauty all around me,
The sunlight sparkles through the curtains
Sending glitter dust around the room
Seeing beyond the sickness and
Doubt that had taken over
A blessing in diguise, I only thought
It was the flu
I had been living life on repeat, everyday
The same old thing.
Taking my life for granted, stuck
In my same routines
I can hardly recall that sickly week
Only off the couch to be yet, sick again
I never would've thought it
Was as serious as it was
The virus spread through my blood
And clotted around my heart, causing
Leisions in my lungs.
Two weeks in the hospital
Missing my children, husband, friends and family
For a while there it was
Close to the end
Allergic to the only drug that would cure
Six weeks with that IV stuck
Into my my arm, not being able to hold
My babies, sometimes too weak to go upstairs
I fought it. I fought it hard.
Now, I'm better. Nothing long term
Cured by the once killing drug
Penicillin, I am grateful, though you
Have hurt me in the past
You cured my Endocarditis, and let
Me live again
The disease that should have been
Deadly, ciesed to take me away.
I'll live my life to the fullest I can
Smile and laugh, read and learn,
Play with my kids and love my
Husband with each breath
I'm alive, so I'll keep living
The life that could have been so
Short and not so sweet
Now to only keep up with the laundry
That is a flooding battle.

Wow , this took my breath away .. How life can be so fragile . I am not a good critique , not at all . Just that I felt the emotions , the feeling of what if I'm gone ? Live and live fully .
