In my second book "Always A marine" I wrote about an out of body experience I once had. I often wondered if I had imagined this when it happened, as it did scare me. These years on through my own experinces I feel I understand it better now. I didn't imagine it and now know that our bodies really are a temple, where our spirit lives.

Cheers

Has anybody had any similar experiences to the one I posted about?

Brenna Lyons (BrennaLyons) | 1 comments Sort of. I have a sort of precog/retrocog thing going in dreams, but it involves (near as I can figure) astral projection of my spirit to a very specific place in the scene and time, where I then watch it unfold. I am usually somewhere behind where my physical body is standing/sitting, when it occurs, if I'm physically there when whatever it is happens. It's rather disturbing, because you see it coming and have no way to intervene with what's about to occur, by the time you connect the dream to the reality.

And in case you're wondering... No, I have no control over it. It happens when it happens. And no...I have not been brave enough/fast enough to look away from the unfolding scene to look where my spirit is standing, before it's over. If I ever have a precog where I see myself turn, I think it will shock me to death.

Harold (lmscott) | 9 comments Stop worrying about nothing, the brain is a fantastic almost unused part of life, not only in humans but animals as well, sometimes they are well in advance of us, with superhuman powers that we do not even notice or understand, anyone in doubt try to do a scent track, in the dark and be convinced.
It may be that we spend too much time using computers and that could probably interfere with brain patterns, another thing there that we have yet to learn about.
My advice, based on experience is, observe make notes and write, try the new electronic books for reading writing and learning, out of body experiences are common, merely a state of mind, a dream or posssibly a half dream.

Minnie (minnieestelle) Brenna, that's very interesting. Have you written about the subject? Do you have a book presently in the market?

Harold I can't say that out of body experiences are common. As you said the brain is still a mystery to even researchers.

I had one experience 40 years ago and maybe another as recent as 2 years ago. I say maybe because I don't think I was asleep, although I was in the bed.

Did my mind go searching for answers to something that was disturbing me? I don't know.

I've been writing seriously for 12 years and published two commercial/fiction books but not about this subject. I say that because I want you to know that I understand my muse and how it works.

>>>My advice, based on experience...<<< Please, tell us what that experience is.

Harold (lmscott) | 9 comments O.K I am now retired but for many years I was a crime investigation police officer, and later a security consultant to British Rail,
So you know from that bit of information I do not deal in guesswork only established facts.
When I was about eighteen years of age, I was fireman on a steam locomotive, we were getting coal from an eighty foot high coal hopper and my driver was about twenty five yards away in the control office, holding the button to automatically drop coal from a great height into the engine coal bunker, we had stupidly left the sliding roof open and a massive piece of best Yorkshire weighing at least fifty pounds came straight through the open roof and ended up half way through the wooden floor of the engine.
I was bending down cleaning the engine fire right under the open roof when the coal came through the roof, but this is absolute fact, I heard a man's voice louder than the sound of the hopper and the falling coal, just two words,"Look Out" and like greased lightening I did just that, faster than the falling coal, I instantly jumped clear, only one bit of damage, marked forever with a split finger nail that never mends, I went to my driver and said "a good job you shouted Bill, I nearly got half a hundred weight of coal on the the back of my neck."
My driver knew absolutely nothing about the falling piece of coal, and he nearly collapsed when he saw it sticking up out of the engine floor boards. He said you would never have heard me if I had shouted, you can hear nothing at all over the sound of a couple of tons of coal falling from that great height.
So now we have a sixty year old unsolved mystery, only two of us there, it was definitely not Bill who saved my young life so who the XXXX was it and how did I; fast as I was, move even faster than that falling rock.
And yes I have written three books, unpublished generally, but my first two electronic books were completed today, the story I have just mentioned fits into half a page of my "Golden Age of Steam," and I have hundreds of stories in my computer, I am really more interested in completing the ones of my days and nights with most probably the finest Police Dog ever, to be sure he did leave me far behind in crime deduction, sure I got the credit, because as one great detective said in the office, as we strolled in with ten thieves in one day, "If Storm could type we could all go home," The charge Sergeant said, "You just want one more for a new Strangeways Football team, and guess what; we got another one at 9pm, just as the theme tune for "No Hiding Place came on the Tele, the court officials were in stitches, even the magistrate was wiping his eyes when the Court Usher gave out the man's name and said, "same Officer," for the ninth time. But that was fuelled to perfection when I told the Court that this idiot had started my car and was actually driving off when Storm went into it via the back window, and the car nearly stood on end when the brakes went on, this was the time of "Life on Mars" in real life, and he was so well checked in his criminal career that six months later he knocked on our front door, apologised and told my wife that he would never steal anything again, being on duty I missed seeing him this time, but I am certain that he never did.

Cheers H.

Jaree Francis (metracity) | 2 comments I write basically what I know or could easily know. My genre I specialize in is urban fiction...I really like the genre, even though I know there's a lot of room for improvement. I will release a free novella before summer is out. The reason I'm doing this is because I know it's a recession, but people still like to read. Some people don't have money to shelve out for a good book or don't have time to go to the library or whatever the case. It will be a good read, if only briefly. Just watched the MJ funeral procession...It should inspires us to complete our works on earth while we can breathe. 09 or Never, baby

Try inducing this state by gnosis or another sort of meditation. Maybe then you can be more proactive about the experience.
